1) Speciate the Skewer Starwing: Develop denticles on the skin to decrease drag and turbolence
2) Create gill flaps around the gills to protect them and pump water more efficiently

3) Speciate: Chemoreceptors on the tip of the proboscis to locate preys
4) SS supported: Improve brain complexity to better coordinate with others of the same species

TURN 10

Events

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Asymptomatic viral outbreak: 3 Turns Left
Parasitoid cysts: 2 Turns Left

A new creature is in town. Another branch of multicelluar life has developed. It is an infectious, parakariotic pathogen that forms small bumps on a given animals flesh and creates wounds akin to canker sores. They are small, and completely unspecialised, and a result, they are not an extreme danger. It does kill the old and infirm however, and there is always a possibility it can become something worse.

Actions

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The Biomes

The Mountain Lake | Freshwater Lake | (16 species in total)
Spoiler: Local Species (click to show/hide)

1. Fix Stingy Quillpede's antivenom problem by not having the bodypart with the venom have antivenom
2. Stingy Quillpede speciates:
    a. Longer whiskers
    b. Immune system
3. Quivering Paddleworm speciates:
    a. Body sway side to side to help with locomotion
    b. Foregut to help with digestion
SS speciate Forgetful Quillpede:
    a. Longer whiskers
    b. Stronger heart

Mmm...i suppose i was too late to get in. No matter, i'll just start this turn.

1) Speciate the Mantis Starwing: Develop denticles on the skin to decrease drag and turbolence
2) Increase brain complexity to better understand the impulses from its eyes and stop having seizures

3) Speciate the Mantis Starwing: Chemoreceptors on the tip of the proboscis to locate preys
4) SS supported: Develop nocturnal habits, avoiding the light.

The Mantis can see everything, from the electromagnetic waves given off by the plant below to the stars pouring down radiation from above.
See this as an absolute win.

Mantis Starwing develops neural centers to separate (roll)
and categorize the different colors into processable data (roll)
in addition to a general increase to the complexity of the brain. (roll)
SS Roll: Landmover Starwing improves upon it's ammonia recycling to help feed the plants growing upon it's back. (previous rolled a 2 last turn.)

Welcome to the Starwings Leonardo. I feel there are about to be a lot less prey around though~

Huh... Two different lineages? I mean, there really is nothing to prevent this... so I guess you can. But I would recommend using vote one for a single establishing speciation, and then splitting. It would be the same thing, but with a single source instead of two. You can side-speciate and mutate on the same action.

Starwings with the knack for quickly filling out niches.

I like how the parasitic cysts probably have to deal with the bioluminescent cysts.

So viral thing didn't turn out quite right, but everything else was a success! 3 out of 4 ain't bad...

    Infected Stumper:
1: Convince the infesting virus to protect Infected Stumper by growing specific areas in the body to house and grow them.
2: Switch to a more efficient closed circulatory system.
3: Expand the skeletal structure to form a set of jaws for the mouth.
SS: Begin moving in groups, with the largest/strongest working to protect the other members of said groups.

Mmm...my idea was to have 2 lineages that deal with the color problems in 2 different ways. One simply gets a better brain and improves swimming, the other side-steps the problem by going nocturnal, since less light=less imputs, starts to orient by smell. They don't share a single mutation, which is why i picked 2 lineages.

Alright, fair. It is allowed. It is just.. an unorthodox placement.

The second one doesn't work cause the Starwings produce their own light. Darkness is no protection from them.

If the problem is over stimulation it should still help. The amount and variety of radiation during the day is going to be orders of magnitudes bigger compared to the night. And at night the bioluminescence actually turns useful, giving them a way to orient themselves should the chemoreceptors vote fail or simply be insufficient.

Whipslinger Finfish:
1) Evolve enhanced brainpower/memory.  (SS)
2) Evolve increased reproductive speed.
3) Evolve increased size.
