TURN 14
EventsStrength: 95 (Very Major Event) (WOOHOOOO!!!)
Timeframe: 3 (Single Turn)
Temperament: 7 (ALLLLRRIGHT)
The Lake Kelp are here. Now covering where the sea prairies once stood and colonising where it was too deep for them, the kelp are the new dominant producers in the ecosystem. The vermin that fed off of the plant matter have also increased in population in response to the change. But as a side effect, the other two primary consumer niches have less biomass allocated to them. This planet is a very desolate one, indeed.
This has caused a curious development. The algea, having been pushed to the very edges of the water, have rapidly evolved to grow into large, sticky blobs on the shores. These ''beach grapes'' as the... you-know-who has dubbed them grow wherever the soil is wet enough for them to absorb water and nutrients from. They surround the lake in clusters and at especially swampy regions, meadows.
The terrestrial niches are ON!!! For now, though, they are pretty small as the greenery is only found in and around the lake and the rest of the planet is cold barren desert.

Also, what the fuck Leo. This planet is shaping up to be a low-G ice desert Class VII death world. And I love it. I swear Toady will take one look at what we are creating and then will decide to nuke the whole subforum. In the best way possible.
By the way, the first to evolve sapience gets to name the planet. It is nameless right now. I sure hope this doesn't makes you race towards- HEY HEY HEY- DON'T- DON'T USE ALL YOUR- ALL YOUR VOTES ON THE BRAIN-
HEY-Also, did I shared the planetary info clearly with you? I haven't I noticed. The planet has only 6.9% of Earth's mass, has 0.4 atm, the average tempature is 8 degrees Celcius and most of the planetary water is ice. So yeah. It is tough out of the water.
