I wish you could click on any character, god, or announcement, and select, "make statue of this thing",

and it would direct you to create a management order to produce a statue, with said "thing" already selected as a custom image, that might be further edited before committing the build order to production

There's a bunch of different jobs that make statues, so I think that jumping right to production would be pretty kludgey. I think instead that you should be able to favorite those characters or events, and then you'd be easily able to find your favorites when commissioning any kind of image.
The image menu definitely could use some better sorting, including a list of everyone that's ever been visible at your fort.
