Maximum Spin

I would unironically take my own elimination over a no elim, at least then the rest of the town gets information.

Of the people you mention in your last paragraph, Crystalizedmire is mafia, Max Spin is town, TricMagic is town, Fallacy is town, I'm town. Feel free to steal these reads if you'd like, they're pretty great.

You can say we're voting for town, but so far you haven't really shown any signs of being town.
This is patently untrue. Have you read my posts?
I think I will steal this and use it as my argument. As you can tell, I have read your posts Magma Mater.

At leas people are voting, but it's 2 hours till the deadline.

This one, not the other one. What reasoning do you have for this vote when before you put them on your town list? Seems like it's not how you actually felt if you discarded it so quickly..

You'd probably bring up that Fal might be right and you might be wrong on the max bit. But if your read on them was so shallow in the first place what of your read on Imp who's below even that? I've put Imp firmly in the Town column, while you put Fal as the highest followed by me of all people.

1) Fallacy (whom I think is town) suspects him.
2) I reread his posts, and discovered that he wasn't being as townie as I thought he was. Originally, I had thought that he was exploring the game and was pressuring Fallacy over a scum read. Instead, it turns out that he was only pressuring Fallacy for something silly that apparently had nothing to do with a scumread. He says his vote wasn't expressing suspicion of Fallacy. So he's been doing nothing but talk about something he thinks is non-alignment-indicative. He's also been totally ignoring the pressure on me, which I'd expect him to do as mafia.

This might surprise you, but Imp isn't playing in a pro-town way. He hasn't really been trying to understand me. He's been lecturing me and bemoaning how irritating my play is. He votes me not for any alignment reasons, but because he doesn't like me. His posts have been uninsightful. He doesn't have any reads at all, apparently. Just generally very anti-town play. I have a slight town read on him because I think he's just indignant town, but like I said before, that won't go very far if his play continues on its current course.
Regarding my reads on you and Fallacy... Fallacy might be the only person besides myself who has been trying to solve the game since the beginning. And most of the people who know you are putting down a meta-town read on you, I'm taking that for granted, despite your inexplicable hyper-focus on me.

Not really a fan of the Max lynch, I'd prefer Wolfkey over Max
I could obviously be persuaded to vote for Wolfkey to save myself, but I don't understand how that's much better than a no-lynch.
Why don't you like the Max lynch? Don't you have him as null?

Sometimes town doesn't look or act fully like you'd expect.  I'm not town because of my playstyle or scumhunting, I'm town because of my rolePM.  I'm towny because I'm working hard not to harm town, and working to help it more than others are likely to be helped, within the span of all I know.

You haven't played beside me before, and you might not give a flipping fang even if you had.

But these games run subtle and deep, very, very often.

I'm trying desperately to understand you - doesn't matter if it's in the way you expect.

What are you working towards, and how effective are you likely to be at achieving it?

That's what I am trying to understand, about you and everyone.

You know, there's a non-zero chance it's a Max-juicebox-? scumteam. juicebox just voted for Max's voting target, and they've been interacting with each other weirdly since game start. I'll dig up evidence once I'm home from work.

Would you like to play a game of Mafia? The subforum is always open to new players.

I've had the time to look at Imp both as a host and as a player. The post limit seems to have pushed them more towards wall at times, but still understandable as a non-teamed Imp. As for the rest, baseing your read of me as town based on other player's meta-reads is not much reason to put me as town. That's just to something you actually believe. Max usually doesn't do anything cause they believe day 1 to be a waste most of the time. Is that meta enough for you or no?

IIRC the only time they've interacted is at the start of the game, when juicebox agreed with Max that you received a scum role PM. It's a possible pairing but not an especially compelling one. Especially when it'd be easy for juicebox to all but guarantee Max's safety by voting for me instead of Wolfkey.

@Imp If I promise to be nice for the rest of the game, will you vote for someone else? Your only hangup on me is the abrasiveness, no?

This might surprise you, but Imp isn't playing in a pro-town way. He hasn't really been trying to understand me. He's been lecturing me and bemoaning how irritating my play is. You'd have to do two things to get me to vote for someone else:
1. Tell me truthfully that Max is playing to his town meta. It seems you're saying he plays this way as both alignments.
2. Move your vote to someone else. Currently my vote is stuck on Max because it's the counter to my own wagon.

Sadly can't do that cause max plays that way either or. The difference between town and scum for them is they make a lot more jokes as scum. Have they this game?

I noticed a weird early interaction but came to the opposite conclusion: I think at most one of them is a wolf, because I find wolves don’t usually talk to each other like that.

Specifically it’s their interaction on like page 3 where they both ask if… I think it was you? were scum. I don’t think either of them is the type to push that hard on a weird early game meme read with a wolf buddy, even accounting for the fact wolves can’t talk right now.

Kicks feet about. A cursory glance says yes I guess. Max, is it still negative reinforcement if you never moved your votes around?
