I was planning on targeting you anyways, Imp. My role is... bodyguard-adjacent, I suppose.

Hm. Looking through the game so far:

Fallacy seems a little strange, but like they're being strange with a purpose behind it. I don't understand what they're doing, but they're doing something. Unsure.
You, Imp, seem fairly reliable to me? You've actively questioned most posts without a clear purpose, and don't seem to be pushing for a lynch without information. Town.
Max has only posted one joke and one vague reply to a vaguer statement. Feels scummy to me, but I have zero evidence and even less room to judge for not posting much.
Interrupted mid-post - Magma, I haven't the faintest idea of what your plan is. You state that you have a lot of solid reads with no visible evidence to back any of them up. Unsure.
Also, I leave my computer and it's tabs open while doing other things. I've been doing laundry between posts.
4mask feels like they're trying to hit a post quota to avoid getting questioned for inactivity. They do have solid posts between the one-line quota ones, though. Town?
Oliver has also only posted once, which I'm unsure about.
AP has said nothing of note game-wise.
Tric feels like FoU to me, but also feels more like town to me. Maybe it's the higher activity, or it's the slightly less obtuse posts?
I might be missing people, but I feel like I should post this before I get stabbed.
If it makes you feel better I'm kinda always like this, at least for the last while. I've long since learned the folly of trying to be too serious business on early D1 so I tend to memepost or comment on things that catch my eye but otherwise not really care.

... Pretty sure you advised scum stop posting, now you're saying town post more. What's the difference in your eyes?
I feel like "town please post more, wolves shut up" isn't really a statement that needs elaboration.

Is mafia kill usually not free on mafia universe or something? And did nobody read the bullet directly above the discord link y'all clicked in the OP? I'm bumfuzzled. Can everyone please take a minute to thoroughly read the first post of the thread? It'll be helpful if everyone knows the rules of the game we're playing.
MU is its whole own kettle of fish, the "one action limit" as we understand it doesn't even really exist in most games there.

But historically in BYORs I'm pretty sure the mafiakill counted as an action so if the wolves lost their dedicated killing role they lost a ton of power. This version is a lot less swingy I just didn't realize it was the rules.

Yeah, we're pretty much a homebrew, I had to adjust to a lot of stuff that was absolutely foreign to me when I went to MU to prep for champs.

Every mod basically sets their own rules, it's a good idea to carefully read every one, but even there, not every mod follows every rule fully or interprets it exactly the same - this is EP as mod and not a bastard game, chances are high every rule is as-stated but there's also the 'traditional B12 stuff' like how you pointed out cryptography's not forbidden.  Unspoken rules are all over.

Some of us are not nearly as concerned about if that mafia kill was free or not as you appear to be - I had read that, and not even filed it in my memory.  I don't expect generic mafiakill to be free or cost, I don't expect the mafia to have or not have other actions, perhaps including complex, awesome, free-or-not non-generic mafiakills.  I personally have had a role where I could have claimed 7 actions as my own actions that previous night and still not admitted to 4 others, very different ones that I had actually forced other players to do in addition to their actual chosen actions (so tracking, haha, good luck).  And I was town with that.

So yes, the rules matter and matter a lot, but there's so much about the actual abilities we have and how we use them... that's where my deeper focus is, personally.  Makes total sense for a newer player to deeply focus on the rules as written, and want us all to.
I've lost a bunch of games just from town not reading the rules. I've also caught scum who were pretending to not have read the rules. I'm not as fixated on them as you seem to believe I am, though, despite us talking a lot about this now. I do have a town read on you despite what I mentioned.

What's more concerning though is that your readslist basically pans out to nothing. Can you summarize your reads by just giving me a list of town and scum, without reasoning? I would prefer if you didn't include all of the players, obviously.

It's not all that often free here, although we do like to mix it up a lot.

Sure, about two weeks ago! I don't even think the discord link was there then, either.

That said, Tric's not actually a jerk and the sum total of his play when town is pro town and useful, to my standards which are pretty high.  I appreciate his playstyle now, I think he plays very uncommonly, even uniquely, but he plays very acceptably for his wincon (incredibly weirdly when his wincon is... dubious.  This TricMagic is a TricMagic I personally don't want to have staring at me ever again, thank you thank you thank you Jim for shooting him then!  Even though we 3 were all town and it cost us town, I didn't know how to appreciate Tric back then and I needed the lessons)

A loud sound fills the air, profoundly violent in its nature.

TricMagic clutches his chest, slightly more than annoyed, then falls to the ground.

TricMagic has been killed. TricMagic was Town.

Dragon That Turns People Into Morally Dubious SK-Allies (Town)
(Innate, 1-Shot, Auto) Bloody Beast’s Awakening: If you successfully kill players for two Nights consecutively, your nature awakens, and you become a Serial Killer. If this happens, every living Town player with Fallout Fumes becomes a Serial Killer-Ally. Players that are converted this way learn your alignment.
(Auto) Dubious Dragon’s Hide: It’s really hard to tell whether you want everyone dead or not. You alignment inspect as a Serial Killer.
(Night) Noxious Neurotoxin Breath [target1][target2]: You breathe out a wave of brain-rotting, noxious fog. Your targets have their actions delayed until the next Night (they are told their actions failed), and gain Fallout Fumes.
(Night) Feverous Fang Bite [target]: You nibble on your target, gently. Your target’s abilities are all Disabled for the Night. If they have Fallout Fumes, you also kill them.
Quote
(Reference, Status) Fallout Fumes: Cough, cough! What is this stuff? You alignment inspect as a Serial Killer-Ally.

My role design is fantastic, isn't it~? A little paranoia always spices things up.

Fear, in other words.

So far, aside from their latest post, I haven't much seen Magma Mater's content as town-aligned. What is the point of suspicions that are not shared?

Quite a few people have very little presence. I do think it's more likely that we'll find scum in the gap between those who are very absent and those who are very present. This, really, makes me more certain of my town read of Imp, for the time being.

I'm not sure if juicebox has said anything other than joking about me being scum (yet again). It's a sad pattern. A low level of activity is one thing, but silence is another. I cannot judge what I cannot read.

TricMagic, I believe I will need to pay more attention to. I still haven't figure out how to read him and his 'protect mafia, kill town' 'honest' 'dragon' playstyle.

Crystalizedmire is growing into a fine player, given time. Townie thus far...

FoU has some twisted role ideas. Screw second-guessing this mechanical garbage spaghetti, I'm basing everything on reads and visible daytime behaviour.

Dead gods, I forgot to close Imp's quote box. Ugh.

Magma Mater. Share who you believe outed themselves as scum, and why, and I'll unvote.

I'm not certain how Magma is making town-reads, either. Imp and FoU I can understand having an idea of, as they have a fairly wide breadth of posts to look through, but I have made one singular post and Max has typed a grand total of 11 words so far this game.

I'm curious if this is an actual take, or if this is trying to bait out something?

Reading things, fairly confident this is a TOWN IMP. There isn't any hesitation in their posts. They're got good gut feelings from what I've seen. ... Not much else to say, just putting it out there. Good luck changing my mind on that point.

That said I'm unlikely to bother investigating them as a result. Feel like it's a waste to check their abilities, though imp could convince me otherwise it's a random check of 1 of the non-autos.
Also find it funny no one commented on that bit.

Show of hands on whether I should do something really stupid and dangerous that MIGHT win the game?

See the problem is that I have to wait for them to post more, so that I can come up with reasons that sound legitimate and reasonable to everyone else. If I post my actual reasons, you'll neither believe me nor follow my logic. So it's both counter-productive and anti-town for me to share my reasons with you.
Instead of voting for town with the petty indignance of a thousand housecats, you might discover that reading the thread and finding scum is a better use of your time. Despite what you say, juicebox does have enough posts for you to form a scumread on him, assuming you put your thinking cap on before reading them.

Holds up a hand. Always up for a little chaos. As noted when Jim shot me.

Magma, even half-formed thoughts on why this person outed themselves is better than telling that person to shut up, then waiting for them to post to bring together a case against them. That's just stalling out time.

Your ability is unlikely to find mafia, this is probably why nobody has bothered commenting on it. You can use it on me if you want to get a big fat 0 in your DMs. But even that doesn't really prove anything about my alignment.

Show of hands on whether I should do something really stupid and dangerous that MIGHT win the game?
If it depends on your reads being good, probably better not to do it. You're voting for town atm.

You can say we're voting for town, but so far you haven't really shown any signs of being town.
