DUH DUHHHH
(dun dun dun dun dun)
The BIGGER MUD PILE towers over the rest of the settlement in all it's shiny, sloppy, muddy glory. Truly it is the greatest thing to ever grace thine sight. No achievement, before or hence, shall ever compare to the fact the Gnomes stacked 15 piles of mud on top of each other really really good.
One of the Gnomes comments they didn't even have to use the resources to finish building it. Turns out if all the mud is removed, there wouldn't be a Mud Pile anymore.
But it is a work of structural genius, one that casts a literal shadow over every other meticulously crafted building in the area. If a single drop of Mud had been placed incorrectly at the top of the pile - instead of so delicately constructed - a Mud Slide would surely have resulted. Fate must smile upon the settlement, for the Gnome's forward thinking.
As this exciting new development is going on, the rest of the Gnomes are busy at work. An Axe is crafted and completely broken by the end of the day. Two trees fall at the edge of the forest, where a diligent Worker drags them into the Lumberyard to turn them into planks, eager to try out the job they were assigned this morning. Some food is foraged, but the job is mostly left to Workers now, with one more experienced Gnome overseeing them.
In the shadow of the Mud Pile, one lone Thinking Gnome finally cracks the conundrum of Distillation. What they realise shocks them to their very core. One other Thinking Gnome wanders over whistling, happy to chip in to the task. Seeing the other Gnome's expression, they make a swift 180 and decide to go sit down with the other Thinker folk. The Gnome shudders and, thinking of their friend's expression, decides to research Weapons...
Event
The Wise Man sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "The Spirits... The Spirits! The spirits are..." he makes a hacking sound as he clears his voice, "I don't know, some kind of way. Something is definitely amuck, but I have no idea what, or if it's good or not. So there's that. If only we had some sort of... wise... eloquent... but spirit savy... Gnome. Someone who can withstand the horrors of the Spirits without, I don't know, falling into a coma for weeks. That'd be nice." He crinkles his nose as he stares off towards the mud pits.
Effects:The will of the spirits is hard to interpret unless they're really, really angry.
You can't tell whether this event is positive or negative.
You can't tell how long the event will last.
Without an interpreter, you will receive no clarity on what actions to take, at least for spirit related events. But I'm sure you resourceful Gnomes will figure something out... probably.
