After a long day, everybody eats.
A sick worker is taken to the Healer's Hut where a thick salve is applied to his forehead and under his nose. It isn't long before he's up and wandering around again, ready to get back to work.
Several Gnomes return to the mud pits, where they work around the form of the afflicted worker, who lies in the middle of the pits face down like a sun-bathing seal. Generally Gnomes just climb over him and pretend he doesn't exist. Occasional incoherent laments drift upwards to the clearing, but the Mud Pits are so deep now it's hard to hear him.
One forager attempts to find juicy insects in order to improve food gathering efficiency. They bring back a collection of fat grubs, but unfortunately the Gnome Workers complain they miss more filling food.
The clearing really is starting to look like a proper village now - two more huts go up in one day, and the new workers are immediately sent out into the forest. The quick turn around time is put down to the Gnomes most skilled with the Palette Knife, who almost bring in enough bricks between them to build a single hut from scratch.
Only one Gnome sits out in the thinkers field today, their mind filled with thoughts of long-lost booze and how it might once again return the now very sober Gnomes.
