Locations:Town Center: The true heart of the town and home to many local services. While dilapidated now, many buildings are now slowly being rejuvenated, as this is one area that has remained in relative constant use. Home to both shops, businesses and some cul-de-sacs clustered around the main thorough-fair, aspiring jobseekers will find variety in their dealings here.
New Build: The Land a little on the outskirts of town was snapped up by a bigshot developer. Advertisements have promised an upscale vibrant gated community, but the reality is identical out-the-box buildings with ongoing electrical and plumbing problems causing development delays. Most jobs here will either take place in 2 bed, 3 bed and 4 bed houses with near identical layouts, though some businesses and amenities have slowly been building up here, such as ongoing development at the new Hospital.
Town Center
Library: This location allows Staff members to research information, gaining access to trait information and local legends/knowledge about a certain pest or pest category. It is important to note that many of the pests in Knobble-on-Hillock are... abnormal, and a staff member meeting one for the first time may not know what they're seeing -
especially if that pest is invisible. Researching information, either here or using the less-reliable magazine articles from the printworks, allows Staff to identify things they would otherwise have no point of reference for. If a staff is researching as a general action - as in, not to identify a particular pest - they will passively gain trait information on all sorts of pests, as if they had the Librarian background/Job Experience. Local legend says the Library has hidden restricted sections of secret occult and esoteric knowledge, but everyone knows it's not true.
Fitz & Sons Printworks: Home to the local cryptid magazine, the Crypto-Knobblenomica! While a more fringe publication and perhaps not as accurate a source as the Library, the Crypto-Knobblenomica also prints regular articles on the goings-on of Knobble-on-Hillock, giving the reader some idea about potential pest problems locally. Of course, the people being interviewed may not always fully understand what kind of pest they are being beset upon by, and so it is up to the eagle-eyed Pest Control professionals to compare these transcripts with their hard-won knowledge, to approach these situations with the correct tools. Articles that reference locations around town count as
Hidden Locations. When using the
Scout action, you can specify this location to travel to somewhere not tracked in the Jobsite list. Alongside the regular articles, Fitz & Sons Printworks grant loyal customers access to their archives, which budding detectives can use to Research the folklore and foul creatures of the Hillock. Due to the.. odd subject matter, research here swings quite wildly as to whether it is successful or not or if you just end up with conspiracy theories, but at least the more outlandish pests are accounted for without needing a specialised license.
Army Surplus Store (not yet eradicated) : The Army Surplus store is a place of wonder and mess. An Aladdin's cave of odds and ends that might prove utterly useless or indispensable. There is always something to find among the stacks, whether that be generators, radios, iron bear traps, iron cages or protective equipment. The items here are niche, but exceptionally valuable to the keen-eyed professional looking for just the right tool to do the job. When Unlocked, the entire catalogue of Army Surplus Store items gets added into the rotation of the shop, rather then a small random chance to see an item pop up now and then.
Town Hall: Undiscovered.
Local Community Center: The beating heart of Knobble-on-Hillocks extended educational facilities, and a great place to rent out for parties, too. The Local Community Center grants access to a series of local training courses and accreditations, of variable reputation and quality. Everything from teaching Morse Code to Canaries to in-depth modus operandi courses, this location allows Companies to upgrade their staff's capabilities, improve their chances of success, increase their inventories, and decrease costs or increase profit. What courses the Local Community Center has available, are directly related to the experience and needs of it's students, as well as what locations have been made accessible in the wider town. If you would like to see more courses, experiment with your style of play and clear out other unique locations, to get access to the full catalogue. Courses do rotate, and not every course is available all the time.
