The city of the dead intrigues me the most. Let's rise above our station atop its golden tower.

As the men gather around you hearing your call to adventure
You ask Yvette to come as your secound in comand.

"Yvette, will you come with us for glory and gold."
"Your really sure that there is this land of gold, i don't think its more then a tale of drunk sailors." she answers back doubting your goal's existance.

"Maybe your right, Maybe theres nothing there, no gold or jewels, then what? What do we do then?
I'll tell you all what we do, we do what we just did but on the sea."

"Why not? i don't whant to live forever." says Yvette as she takes your hand.

It's week later when you an some of the men are in a remote port, hopeing that tales of your crimes have not reached them.

Your trying to give the image of a rich merchant, to expaine your wealth.
You walk down the dockside with Yvette by your side looking at the gathered ships with a heavy purse in hand.

If we only want to purchase one ship, and if we want to bring our entire crew, ship 1 and ship 4 are the only ones available to us. Between those two, I think I'd prefer ship 4, though it's seakeeping score is not great.

I like the sound of ship 1 due to the cargo space, but I'm not sure about the seakeeping score as I don't know if smaller number is better or worse.

Ah, I thought the opposite. In that case, I'm not sure what to choose.

With that in mind I ship 4 is probably the best if we want to take everyone with us as the seakeeping is lower than ship 1.

Ship 4 works. It seems pretty versatile, and still has some cargo space.

Ship 4

With a heavy thud you put the bag of gold coins on the table.

"The longboat, i'll take it."
-----------

The next few days are spent in a rush to buy hardtack beskets, salt beef and barrels of water and salt "for the fish".
The cover it being used as  fishing ship holds as does your cover as a merchant.

Soon as the tide rises you push the boat out and are away.

The first few days at sea are easy and with a good wind your unamed long ship make's good progress.
On the the secound day, most of the crew are sea stick and sea weed drifts past.

Then the weather turns foul, the sky darkens and winds rise as storm starts.
Your ship is buffted side to side by the weather, you order the sails lowered as every one has to hang fast while the sea shakes the ship.

The next day as the storm fades, your able to see the birds from distant lands in the sky.

As the ship reaches the coast line you can see the mouth of a river and a few hills , then rising on a hill is the tower, a black finger of stone topped with a golden dome.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You sit down with a your crude map of the coast line and start to plan.

I'm thinking that we lay anchor near the river estuary and follow the stream west on foot. That would bring us closer to the tower, which I assume is black on the map.

As the  high noon sun hangs above you lay anchor at the north mouth of the river estuary and follow the stream west on foot.

You land the boat and head off in land with 20 men, the rest stay behind to guard the ship and resupply it wtih fresh water and fruit.

It's a thick jungle, and travel through the jungle is slow, it's often that you an your men have to cut your path thru the brush.
But as night falls your near to the tower, near enough to see the golden dome, mirrored in moon light with a silver band and a trio of smaller golderen ones.
At this distance your starting to use your long rotted mental math skills, by your count each of the gold bands has to be a good 2 feet high, the silver one at least 8 and and the dome a good 10 feet tall, likey more as your not great at mental maths.
Then as you crest a hill, you hear a horn blow in the distance, a war horn that echos across the hills.
As you look out to ther far hills you can see movenent, who or what ever is comeing closer.

A: Advance to the tower, come what may.
B: Back to the boat, come hell or high water.
C: Hold fast and be safe from ambush or attack.
