Job-related laws
« on: May 15, 2024, 02:30:16 pm »

Aside from the production mandates, let the mayors (or the highest-ranked noble in the fort) make laws related to what jobs can dawrves perform. Such as minimal age for real jobs (that aren't chores/training), minimal skill levels to perform certain job, etc.

I guess in contradictory cases the laws made by lower-ranking nobles should be voided. Or they could be used as a basis for civil war. Or maybe the two nobles could decide who's the boss in a fistfight

Or nobles could decide the law in their domains: for exemple, a duke might ban minors from working in mines but the mayor might allow kids to work as coalminers to solve a local worker shortage.
