The vast, vast majority of the metals provided from the planet of Exemplum are mundane, albeit a diverse array of the products of an absolute peak exemplar of Imperial refinery: steels, bronzes, gold, titanium, osmium, etc. However, the rarest and most valuable of House Nagant's alloys is a metal with a strange psychic property, capable of being infused with strong emotional sensations and even dealing intense psychic damage if forged into a weapon. Mostly, the sent selection is infused with sensations of love for the emperor, but a couple of samples seem to project strange, niche senses such as "relentlessly backseating someone" or "procrastinating doing math".

Despite having no atmosphere, this barren rock actually possesses large deposits of high-proton elements.  Whether due to freak chance of cosmic conglomeration of gasses or as the destroyed ruins of some long-ago alien mega-structure, the sub-surface composition is almost entirely molten tungsten, rhenium, palladium, indium, and germanium, as well as nearly every dense metal in various veins and trace amounts.  The high levels of radiation on this planet make it actively hostile to human life (and advanced robotics), but it is a very rich planet indeed.



The Emperor has too many Armies and elects to decommission six of them on Pluto.  They are assigned to the Plutonium mines, which is unfortunate because Pluto is very poor in that particular mineral.
