Alright bearded brethren I've set to my labors! Anyone else can comment what order they'd like to go in! I'll update the first post and title

The elves and humans united against us to drive our kind to extinction! Only seven dwarves still live huddled in fear in a small hillocks! The forests and plains are alight with the laughter and cheer of our hated enemies!

Here is our flag that we might never forget those who have WRONGED US!

Welcome to Gateheaven

We're settled in a barren wasteland, but more importantly we have embarked with elephants and nearby in the river is a pod of hippos!

Our war machine is already coming together!

Here is all of our enemies

That is a lot of revenge to go and get

Ooooh I can't wait to see what everyone does! I'm so sad I don't have enough predictable free time to commit to a turn just yet. But if this is still going once I do, I am STOKED to be part of my first succession fort.

In the meantime, please feel free to dorf me as Maise! My only request is to be a female dwarf. I don't care about profession or skills or custom job titles.

What's that clickable image thing that lets you see the fullsize screenshot? Seems very useful, i couldn't figure how to put it into a post

a good time to return - sign me up :3

I don't really understand what's the relationship between graphical and computational. Well, i loaded a 120ish dwarves fort  in a large world, and both fps counters were around 70 fps. So it's not because of large world, i guess it's because of the huge civilization populations instead

I just don't get why the graphical lags so far behind the computational... i had pretty good computational on this world, but graphical was a lot worse

this is a good question. I'm not really sure for premium release. graphical FPS used to be fairly unimportant

Add me to the turn list too please, Maloy.

I’m not great at fort mode but I’ll do my best!

Wow. I believe Kesperan has just won adventurer mode.

@Otto - honestly I've been on this forum for years now and I only just learned of that function this past year lol

I'll give some updates now and then again when I turn in the save on Tuesday!

Here is our entrance! Big enough for wagons in case we find ourselves under siege! Big fields to the south that will be our killing fields to meet the enemy in the field!

Wagon tunnel leads down down down to our fort

errr...ignore the water it only comes to the ankles! Think of it as a free waterfall!

Here's where our fortress is gonna be built!

No elves or humans yet- bless my beard!

Had everyone go underground to start working though once I saw what was in the river...

Merchants? Here? Their are other dwarves ALIVE?!

I asked the head merchant where in blazes he got all this stuff when there's no settlements left. He just glared at me and said "You want the stuff or not?"
The weapons in the wagon looked used...
Told him to bring some plaster for casts and platinum. He nodded to a guard who said they'd need to "drop in to a hospital"

Good news the animals are multiplying!
Bad news the animals are multiplying!

Those freakishly long humans and filthy tree huggers will show up when we least expect them so I already got the boys training for it!

Gonna start naming and setting up schedules and what not now!

Am I crazy doesn't it normally say the caravan is from <site name> not from <group name> is this some kind of in built caravan even when your civ is dead?

I know that usually it says the Dwarven language name, but I am unsure if it's the site name or the group name. Hopefully Maloy will be able to answer!

Train the military outside, or make sure you only fight the enemy indoors. Even legendary soldiers can go down if they're sun-sick.

You guys might be right! I think I might remember that it normally names them coming from the Mountainhome

The filthy elves took it from us and are probably growing trees in our old tavern!

The humans left our second fortress a smoking ruin!

Hopefully once we start raiding we can stay on top of that much easier! Once we get running full steam we could have several squads invading places all at once!

And true dwarves will weep on the day we can once again say the words "The Caravan from Lancerash has arrived"

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'm pretty sure it always says the civ name these days. Wouldn't bet on it on just memory, though. But here's an image of that

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Here's another image I found in a Reddit post from a year ago

Something I do remember is the regular trade announcement is always the civ name in native tongue, such as "Caravan from Borlonfikod has arrived"
