Preliminary Turn 1 Design Phase - Spring 1912
Proposal: Gryf's Szybki RifleDifficulty: NormalResult: 4+2=6,
AverageIn order to remain at a minimum of equivalence to the hostile north, the King offered a reward to the company who could bring forward a suitable weapon to outfit the average rifleman with. A number of duds were pushed through testing, some old classics tried out, and some borderline insane machines fired, but ultimately it was
Gryf's Szybki Rifle that was deemed suitable for the Royal Army.
The weapon wasn't beautiful or impressive, but it wasn't rough on the eyes either. In short, it looked like a typical 105cm long, 3.3kg rifle made of wood and metal.
The rifle utilizes captured gas in order to cycle rounds into the chamber after firing, resulting in a relatively reliably self-loading weapon. The
Szybki carries ten 9.5x35mmR smokeless rounds in a side-fed tube magazine running along the underside of the barrel, with another round held in the chamber. While they don't necessarily pack as much of a punch as other weapons in a similar role,
slightly less kick makes these perfectly kill-capable bullets
slightly easier to cluster accurately at the
slight cost of range. The rear tangent sight reflects this, with the rifle's 600m effective range matching the cap for the sight's ranging. The semiautomatic nature of the
Szybki was a fantastic selling point, but the weapon's ability to easily swap to manual bolt action if necessary was a nice bonus. In addition to being able to rapidly send shots downrange, the
Szybki can maim and kill up close and personal with a 50cm bayonet that can be fixed to a lug at the end of the rifle.
As
Gryf's Szybki Rifle is intended to be the standard issue rifle among the Army and construction costs and complexity are relatively normal, it is considered
Cheap.

It is now the Revision Phase. You can use Revisions to modify, improve, upgrade, sidegrade, downgrade, or otherwise fiddle with equipment in your Armory. This currently means the rifle and anything else mentioned in it's Armory entry (bullets, bayonet).
Arms and Equipment
Gryf's Szybki Rifle: A self-loading 105cm long, 3.3kg rifle firing 9.5x35mmR rounds from a tube magazine with a 10+1 capacity. Captured gas is used to cycle the weapon, and the system can be disconnected in the event of a malfunction to allow manual bolt action operation. Tangent sights match the rifle's 600m effective range, and mild recoil provides an improved ability to maintain accuracy with a higher rate of fire. Comes with a 50cm bayonet. Cheap
