Preliminary Turn 1 Revision Phase
Proposal: Pęknięcie AmmunitionDifficulty: Very HardResult: (3+2)-2=3,
Buggy MessPęknięcie Ammunition uses copper-jacketed spitzer shaped bullets to deliver a small payload of mercury fulminate to targets. The internal workings of the rounds are very clever, with tip of the bullet housing a spring that uses the rod's forward momentum to propel it backward into the explosive when the round strikes the target. The fulminated mercury charge is large enough to fragment the bullet's jacket, causing some damage from the explosion itself with the majority of post-impact injury resulting from shrapnel, and minimal (but not zero) risk of collateral damage. There is a brief delay between impact and detonation, allowing the round to penetrate targets briefly to maximize damage from the explosion.
Unfortunately,
Pęknięcie Ammunition is very complicated to produce. The detonator rod tension springs need to be calibrated perfectly in order to keep the rods in position and the mercury fulminate unexploded until the desired time. In conjunction with the abundance of caution required when working with mercury fulminate, production of
Pęknięcie Ammunition is
almost too intensive both financially and in man-hours to provide at a level the Royal Army could appreciate at this point.
While otherwise perfectly fine and surprisingly stable,
Pęknięcie Ammunition is currently so difficult to produce in large numbers that it will be a
National Effort until the bullet is modified or industry augmented. This means a single soldier will be equipped with the exploding bullets for now.
----------------
It is now the Strategy Phase. In this phase you will be voting for
two lanes (West, Center, East) to attack along. You will also choose which lanes to deploy your various National Efforts. While control of territory won't be changing in the Preliminary Turns, for practice and consistency (especially since you have a National Effort to practice with potentially for the only time in the prelims) I've decided that we will be voting strategies.
This means that, when you break it down, you have THREE votes right now:
Two for lanes to attack.
One for lane to deploy Pęknięcie Ammunition.
You
cannot vote to attack the same lane twice.
Arms and Equipment
Gryf's Szybki Rifle: A self-loading 105cm long, 3.3kg rifle firing 9.5x35mmR rounds from a tube magazine with a 10+1 capacity. Captured gas is used to cycle the weapon, and the system can be disconnected in the event of a malfunction to allow manual bolt action operation. Tangent sights match the rifle's 600m effective range, and mild recoil provides an improved ability to maintain accuracy with a higher rate of fire. Comes with a 50cm bayonet. Cheap
Pęknięcie Ammunition: Spitzer-shaped bullets with copper jackets that carry a small payload of mercury fulminate. Tip of the bullet houses a spring and rod assembly that that strikes the fulminate to detonate it. Rounds detonate shortly after striking targets, causing some explosive damage, fragmentation of the copper jacket, and a slight chance of collateral injuries. Some might say slightly over-engineered.
