From reading the rules, full-Balance build would be very durable (it is harder to gain Eye stat), but not quite fun for the crowds

Hector is running a balance build. The problem is that it leaves no room for a useful amount of unseating protection, so the first time someone does hit you you're dead. And because hitting is a D10 attack roll versus D6 defense, you will be hit eventually if your opponent has invested into Eye at all and picks Lion stance.

Imo the best balance build adds some muscle and a steel lance tip, so that you have a shot to end the fight early by unseating your opponent first. That's what I tried in the previous game, but I was unlucky and still died in the first matchup.
