Joan uses her Basic Heal on herself, restoring 3d6+10 HP and giving herself Shield equal to half the amount healed.  Then she moves back to Zone 3 and vaccinates Tsubasa with a quick hypospray, cleansing her of Struck 5.  Then she Basic Heals Tsubasa, restoring 3d6+10 HP and giving herself Shield equal to half the amount healed.

If she heals a target up from under half HP she crits for 9 extra healing and gives all allies in her zone 4 stacks of Regenerate.

Turn 3

Tsubasa gains 1 Concentration and 10 SHD, then gets 9 SHD from Barricade. Barricade falls to 5. Tsubasa also gains 1 Concentration from Meikyo Shisui.
Tsubasa will also intercept the next attack Joan receives in this battle.

Close Combat Specialist B slashes at Tsubasa for 13 damage.

Mira advances to Area 4.

Ea attacks Heavy Gunner A for 12 damage, killing him! Then she advances to Zone 4.

Joan restores 17 HP to herself and gives herself 9 SHD, then moves to Zone 3 and heals Tsubasa for 18 HP and cleanses her of Struck 5. This restores an extra 9 HP to herself.

Tsubasa strides toward the sole survivor. Moving almost as if she is dreaming, her hand drifts toward her blade.

There is a flash of steel, and a streak of red.

Then, it is over.

The facility falls quiet in the aftermath of all the violence. Cathartes leaves her sniping position and leads the team over to the center of the room, searching for threats and finding none. With a quiet click, Waster reloads its shotgun, the spent shells clattering to the floor with a surprisingly loud echo. The roach-like drone scurries over to Joan and gently nudges her leg in an almost dog-like manner, like it's expecting a pat on the head.

"So. What do you wanna do?"

- Destroy the systems: "Won't slow them down too much, but it should help throw them into disarray. They'll know they're not safe, at least."
Slightly weaken all enemies during the attack on the Research Station.

- Modify the systems to listen in on communications: "Knowing more would help. Plus, might be valuable for someone else."
Gain 5 favor (currently have 6) and gain more detail on enemies and their abilities.

- Modify the systems to broadcast music during the attack: "... You're seriously considering Annie's idea?"
Up to three times during the attack on the Research Station, blast enemy communications to apply several debuffs to most foes for a short period.

- Something else: "Between Oxide's little friend and your skills, we've got options."
Suggest some other action/method to sabotage communications and a benefit that would go along with it.

"We should take the most direct approach and destroy their systems." She flicked the blood off her blade and sheathed it. She still wasn't sure how she felt about using her skills to kill humans, even evil ones, but the disquiet didn't show on her face.

"Destroying these Systems may prove effective in throwing the enemy in disarray, but messengers and other things can quickly be worked out."

The Fae crossed her arms as she contemplated the options given to them.

"I suggest we use them to broadcast false information. Make them question what is an actual order and what is us just messing with their systems. Give three different locations about where we are at the same time, give an over- and an underestimation about how many we are and so on. Information is a tool that can be used both ways after all."

"I agree with Ea," Joan says, "This isn't a scenario where we'll be able to keep listening in on their conversations long-term.  They'll change the codes once they realize their equipment is compromised.  It's logical to do as much as we can to throw the enemy into disarray before our sabotage is discovered."

Mira merely shrugs at the conversation taking place, already having sheathed her blade, "Information wars isn't my type of specialty. I would simply take the most direct approach" she stated as she folded her arm. Ordinarily, that would've likely been the end of her commentary, but the knight spoke up once more shortly after, "... Yet, a distracted enemy is a vulnerable enemy. I say we use our new tool to our advantage, rather than just destroy it immediately."

Cathartes nods. “Good idea. The drone can access the controls over there to misdirect Sovereign. Fewer targets, but... maybe that’s a good thing,” she adds, though she sounds unhappy.

Effect: Some enemies removed from Sovereign Research Station. Reinforcements are much slower to arrive in battle, and enemies that summon other enemies have a chance to fail.

The team returns to the hideout to find Orion at a table, grumbling as he cleans some armor that’s covered in duct tape, scrap metal, and gore.
Annie is nowhere to be seen.
In the corner is Lyra, dressed in coveralls and cleaning some disassembled guns. “You’re back. Noticed that Sovereign’s really beginning to spread out their forces - I assume that was you?”
Bonus: Cathartes’ sniping can now be performed as a free action (once per turn).
“In any case, there are a few more things we can do to prepare. Unless you’d rather take down the station now - I think we can pull it off.”

Mira simply folds her arms, giving Lyra a small nod, "That was indeed us. Regardless, we're here to do a job, not to sight-see. If we have the means to destroy the base, then we should take it."

"We have to balance the advantages we'd get from more preparations against the fact that these Sovereign fellows will get more time to prepare for us the longer we wait, and have more chances to recover from what we've done already," Joan says, "If you think we have decent odds as we are, I say we should go for it while we still have the initiative, and they've yet to figure out what they're up against."

"Demons will go into hiding or try to strike you down at the earliest possible chance. From the experience I've gotten hunting humans, it's not very different. We should go now."

Ea appeared to be a bit reluctant to the idea, but seeing as everyone was already agreeing to go finish this job, she didn't see much reason to try and dissuade them from their plan.

"I would have personally preferred to gather some more information about the enemy we're about to face, but I suppose striking now while we got the advantage is the best way to handle things."

Lyra nods as the others give their answers. “Good. I’ve been thinking about how to do this - so here’s the plan: With the station’s defenses I think this will be our safest point of ingress,” Lyra points towards a spot at the edge of the circular gray facility, “And from there we’ll split into two teams. We’ll split off towards a point on the other end of the area to distract the security. Meanwhile, you’ll fight your way towards the station’s center. Internal records show that’s where most of the cargo from Sovereign’s ships get sent once they reach this place, so it’s our best bet to find the target. Whether or not your weapons and powers can kill it on its own, I also want to sabotage or destroy the facility. Cargo manifest said quite a lot of volatile materials were being shipped and stored all over, so it shouldn’t be too much trouble to do that, and it’s what we’ll be doing in addition to distracting the enemy. Make sure whatever corporate bigwig tried to pull this move pays for it.”

“Think they’ll be there?”

“Cathartes, do you not know anything? Those people can’t fight for themselves - Why else would I exist?”

“I still don’t buy your story.”

“Wh- excuse me? I already demonstrated my healing just for you - and again for Orion over there. You think I’m some kind of knifeplay stage magician?”

“Annie, stop! You’ll have plenty of chances to show off your superpowers when we do our part. I’m planning to have Cathartes come along as an extra gun.”

“So she can steal our kills?”

“Your fault if you’re not fast enough.”

“Cathartes, don’t, please.”

“I don’t think we can hurt much more than their rep or their cashflow - but considering they’re Sovereign, that might be enough. Speaking of - we’ll need to think about how to best prepare.”

Current Favor: 6

“Right now, it looks like the path to the center is being guarded by these enemies:”
Stage 1: 2 Close Combat Specialists, 2 Heavy Turrets
Stage 2: 4 Elite Guards, 3 Heavy Turrets, 1 Light Combat Mech, 1 Project MG-004 “Meerkat” Combat Robot
Stage 3: ? ? ?
