Aiko and Shizu

"Does Shizu normally have that ability?" Shadow asks, "Most of your powers should still work in some form or another here, but that place doesn't add very much that wasn't there to start with."

Tayir

"I smirked ever so slightly, they were always looking for someone. 'Well, you've come to the right place.' I said, 'My specialty is findin' people, but my services don't come cheap. And if things get hairy, I can't promise you'll make it out alive.'

If she was unnerved by my declaration, she didn't let it show. Good, I always liked a woman with nerves of steel, makes it more exciting in the third act when their true motives come to light."

Brynn
"I'm looking for the one in charge of this place." To do what yet, she hadn't fully decided. Her former companion might have the right of their next course, but Brynn wasn't in a mood to just roll over and blindly do as the sword bid without a second thought. Never again.

[Twinwolf]

Aiko and Shizu

”No but she also usually isn’t a radio, so I figured it was worth checking.”

”I have not gained that ability, no.” Shizu says blankly. ”I cannot see anybody, in any case.”

Aiko would keep looking for a bit, circling the lake with a frown. ”Not much of a territory, is it? There’s nowhere for a secret base or to get lunch. Might be nice for a swim though. Hey, we should go swimming sometime Shadow, maybe while I’m here I can find a store with swimsuits in one of the city areas?”

Speaking of which, she looked at the cityscape adjacent to the lake. So much mist. And poison gas. Like, she didn’t have proof it was poison but it was definitely poison. On her city. Again.

…She preferred to check the regular mist place first.

[Takosher]

Aiko and Shizu

You don't find anything as you circle, the lake seems totally empty.

"Swimming?" Shadow sounds anxious, "...Do we have to?"

Brynn

The shrine maiden looks down at the clipboard again. She seems to think for a moment. Then she sets it on the desk and pushes it over to you. "Congratulations, problem solved." she says flatly, "Now go away."

[Twinwolf]

Aiko and Shizu

”Not really, if you don’t want to. I just enjoy it.” Aiko shrugged. ”Maybe something else fun, like karaoke?”

She started towards the misty city. Unless something was like, under the lake, there wasn’t anything there and she was reasonably sure neither Brynn nor Tayir was a fish.

[Devastator]

Tayir

"Well, I'm looking for two things..  first, my friends are gone.  They're new here, but we were scattered and it's likely they're alone.  They're probably okay, they're strong people who know how to fight, but the first goal is to find them."

"If we can join up with the three of them first, they'll tell you about the person we came here for.  There's something darker going on that brought us here."

"What would you expect in return for your help?"

Brynn blinked, then took a look at whatever was on the clipboard, unsure whether it was a good idea to touch it or not.

[Takosher]

Aiko and Shizu

"I don't know... I don't really like singing." Shadow says awkwardly, "But I guess if it was just the two of us it might be okay."

As you enter the misty city, the color seems to drain from your body, washed away in the unending rain. It's a drab and dreary place, the residents all trudge about with umbrellas up and heads down. There's a few different places you could potentially visit: A pub, several shops, a small office building, another pub, and a branch in the road that leads off to somewhere uncertain.

Brynn

The clipboard contains a list of seemingly inane tasks that mostly seem irrelevant to you. Things like, "Help the Balloon Animal Club find their lost orangutan," "Stop the Sabotage Club from undermining the regional foosball championship," and "Help the NEET Club buy more cola and chips." Not a single one has been checked off and there are a couple dozen.

Of most significance to you is the task most recently added at the bottom: "Kill Magical Girl Dragonheart✩Brynn."

Tayir

"I smiled at her, naive as she was. 'There's always something darker goin' on in this town, sweet cheeks.' I pulled myself to my feet and grabbed my coat from the hanger standing nearby. 'We'd best hop to it. No matter how strong they might be, it don't matter one bit here. Our fellow sinners won't show any hesitation when it comes to taking out stragglers.'

I grinned slyly as I walked past her. 'My standard fee is $2 an hour, but if you give me a good smooch before this wraps up, I'll cut it down to $1.75.' I said, holding the door open for her."

Brynn
Brynn had seen her fair share of artists interpretations of hell. The last item on the list in context with everything else around here finally made it all click. She glanced at the master of this area with something almost approaching pity. "...I see. How long have you been stuck here?"

Why are you fraternizing with the enemy yet again?!

Be silent, dear Arisen, lest I get the urge to spit again.

Aiko and Shizu

"Sure thing! It can be fun to do it one on one! Shizu probably won't mind hanging out somewhere else, right Shizu?"

"Provided you do it relatively close to me, I suppose."

As they enter the rain, Aiko pulls her jacket up over her head as a makeshift umbrella. She notices the washed out colors quickly.

"Hey, I like my colors." Aiko grumbles.

"There should not be much of an area to search, Red Rose Magical✩Aiko." Shizu said. "This territory is of similar size to our own. If one of our allies is here, it will be quickly apparent."

Aiko starts walking around, looking for anyone who seems less NPC-ish than the other people - so, you know, a magical girl probably. She wonders what kind of person would have such a dreary territory... maybe they need a hug?

Tayir

Well, I don't know what a dollar is, but two probably isn't that many.  Lets play this by ear..

"Do you always go so fast, Charlotte?  There's no telling what you might find if you start looking."

Head out the door together.  Lets see if Charlotte has any idea where to start.  Mention that the lake is mine.

[Takosher]

Aiko, Shizu, and Tayir

As you and Shizu explore, a voice suddenly enters your mind.

"I caught wind of the unexpected visitor on my way out of the alley. Which is to say that I spotted them with my own two eyes. A near-fatal mistake, I'd gotten too cozy with the dame inside. My power could reach one target anywhere in my territory, but I needed to get closer to control more.

"The dame from inside followed me out at the same time that the new import looked over. I watched warily to see if the two dames recognized each other, ready to defend myself if the need arose."

Brynn

The shrine maiden groans. "Does it matter?"

The clipboard rattles angrily on the desk. The shrine maiden ignores it. So it leaps up and whacks her on the head. There's two sharp sounds of something being underlined aggressively.

The shrine maiden yelps, though she sounds more annoyed than hurt. "I don't feel like it." she protests weakly.

Aiko and Shizu

Aiko waves cheerfully. "Oh, hi! I'm looking for a friend of mine- uh, well, I'm looking for a couple of them and they're more acquaintances who I haven't really befriended yet, Tayir and Brynn! We just got here together but got super split up, have you seen them?"

Her power, hm? Shizu mused. Interesting. She looked at the pair coming into view - two girls. Neither of which especially looked like Brynn. On guard, Aiko, and prepare to transform; if they turn hostile we may need to flee.

[Devastator]

Tayir

"Well, here's the first two of them.  Almost there, just one to go."

"Do you know where Brynn is?"

[Sutoratosu Akira]

Brynn
She looked at the clipboard with concern, already guessing what was underlined and that it was likely the girl's familiar. "No, I guess it doesn't. I'm trying to find a way out of this place, do you want to join me?"
