Look at this:



Both the blue area and the black area (green on minimap) are inaccessible at any Z-level. Well, I haven't gone down to Magma Sea yet but I doubt it would change things. On the world map, before embarking, there was nothing strange or unusual about this area. I've never seen this before. There's a similarly inaccessible rectangle on the north-east corner of the map too. Caravans and migrants do arrive normally.

I'm leaning towards abandoning this fortress just to be safe.

It looks like a corruption, but maybe it won't hurt in the long term. I would retire though, because not knowing if it causes more problems later on, especially when special features are uncovered.
