B. 20 Barrels Strongsugar - Ought to be enough to pay our way to the next island, even if we don't find the tailers in need of fabric.

The Company Man suggested we sell textiles directly to the clothiers to avoid the poor prices. Is that something we can do now?

It's a shame we had to sell that Sugar, we could've made a decent margin on it.

How? We sold them at 65. We'll get below 65 here.

no no, the company man is dead of tropical fever, his accountant is holding his position for the moment.
as for the Clothiers, that would be under Option (A) which we should go with only after dumping enough goods that we can afford to pay our men in our next destination.

"20 Barrels of Strongsugar we sell." The Purser nods and does a quick math.

"And ten thousand four hundred Ducats we earn." He says, scribbling in the Ledger.

"Whatever shall we do now?"

A) "We're done here. We're returning to the ship.
B) "Now... we go find some tailors."
C) "Let's trade... (insert cargo here)"

You take the Purser on a walk about local tailors and clothiers.

9th Midwinter
One Hour Later
Costas, Isle of Costas

You sit on a small bench under a sourfruit tree as the Purser mumbles to himself and scratches something on the back pages of his ledger.

"This was very productive. Ten barrels of Twosewn for six hundred twenty, five barrels Twosewn for six hundred thirty, ten barrels Softfeel for four hundred eighty five, and ten barrels Softfeel for five hundred, and another five of Softfeel for four hundred seventy." He writes in his ledger for a while longer.

"A total profit of twenty one thousand five hundred and fifty ducats, Captain." He turns to you. "What now?"

A) "We're done here, let's go back to Santa Julia."
B) "Back to the market, we can trade some... (insert trade good here)."
C) Consult the Ledger.

We have 44/75 Ship Loads in the hold, and 35,368 ducats.

Unless we want to do some speculative trading, I think we're done here. I wonder if the Company ever carries chartered freight in the Karibs? Probably not worth much, but better than an empty hold.

uh, guys... just looking at it, there is an issue...

need 125 more Coffers of Blackspice for the royal commission.  Blackspice seems to go for ~1000 per coffer, unless there is a deal to be made.  There are 35,368 ducats in the treasury.  For old-world trade goods there is only 30 barrels of Strongsugar valued at 15,600.  So unless there are some hella scores, there is ~50,968 in cash and old-world goods, and we still need ~125,000 of cargo... for a ~74,032 deficit.  Not even counting salaries to be paid...

is it more important to make the royal commission in full, or to have a varied hold of high-end goods?  Because IF the local goods cannot be sold in the Caribs, at least for return value, to get all the Blackspice necessary isn't going to be possible.

I raised that concern when we bought a whole load of Silver a few turns back. But, speculative trading might give us the coin we need. Worst case, selling some of that Silver, even for net-zero, is likely our best way to make up the funds. I doubt we'll be able to suffer a loss on it.

In my opinion it is much more important to make the commission, but other players seem to have concluded that keeping one's promises is for squares and just sort of giving it our best try should be good enough. :P

I don't understand why we bought all this silver either. It's just dumb.
