Assign war animals to soldiers in steam verison?

Just what it says in the title.  I have a bunch of war trained animals.  I don't want to just pasture some of them in the entry.  I want a few to go with the squads.  How do I do that in the steam verison?

There is an « assign animal » option next to the name of war/hunting animals in the pets screen.

Oh, I see.  It replaced the assign trainer once the animal is fully trained.
