Insane wandering dwarves
« on: July 30, 2023, 10:28:20 am »

I’ve encoutered multiple insane dwarves just wandering the wild in adventure mode. Has anyone else witnessed this phenomenon?

If you're so sure that you're gonna end up killing all of dwarven civilization, why not make a statue depicting 2147483647 dead dwarves, all of which are burning? Name it something good, like Deaddead the Dead Dead Dead-Dead of Dying. Just put it in the main hall or something, as a grim reminder that they're all gonna die.

I have too. It's weird, because I only see this happen with dwarves and no other race (I mean animal people could count but they also live there so)
Also, there aren't any civilizations nearby when it happens.

Can you look them up in legends?

Those are dwarves that had failed strange moods in worldgen/npc forts. They'll wander the wilds until they die if old age. Because thirst/hunger isn't checked except for player fort pops or adventurers...

I make Spellcrafts!
I have no idea where anything is. I have no idea what anything does. This is not merely a madhouse designed by a madman, but a madhouse designed by many madmen, each with an intense hatred for the previous madman's unique flavour of madness.

I would, but I don’t know their names.

Try selecting them and running gui/gm-unit.

This would be cool to see in fort mode too, your dwarves simply running away after failing the mood.
