I tried to play chess but two of my opponents were playing competitive checkers as a third person walked in with Game of Thrones in hand confused cause they thought this was the book club.

@Jack: in preparation for the next turn, I will divide the loot in two piles and you can pick one, ok?
Pile one: 15 crude spears and an arena ticket (raw value 7.75₣)
Pile two: 1 crude spear plus all the other junk (raw value 7.97₣)

Oh, taking Pile Two, obviously. I'll have to sort through and assemble some of the junk into its more valuable items for resale.

I guess if a rule is hard for the players to follow and for the GM to enforce it's probably a bad rule on those grounds alone. And other than providing a logical reason for stages to unlock one by one this rule doesn't bring anything to the table, so I'm scrapping it.
Well, Ms. Rostish Reiff could have gotten some work as a Tour Guide, having completed the Overgrown Cave. But then again, I'm reasonably sure she would die horribly in The Mechanical Maze...so pass.

I was going to make you mine the dungeons for items, but this doesn't seem to be popular.   :-\
So, yes!
Taking inspiration from Dwarf Fortress, you can ask your market liaison to import things in general categories ("ranged weapons", "heavy armor", "health potions" are all good categories, "a +1 short sword" is not.) These items will arrive next turn and will be priced x2 of the usual amount. If you buy the items more can be imported. On the other hands if you don't buy the items the liaison will be pissed, and will not take orders for a while. So pick carefully.
(To be clear: you still have to bid on the items, the minimum bid is just going to be higher)

Clarification: ...I actually can't make a Stick with Nails. Recipe for Stick with Nails is 3 Nails & 1 Stick. I have 3 Sticks & 1 Nail.  ::)

 - Mysterious Maze denizens include Slime Cubes and Red Slimes. Chests include Old Lockers and Old Tool Cabinets. Dungeon Loot includes Calligrams, Icons, Copper Rings and Coins

Who said that? I actually love the idea, been hoping for some new recipes that give cat hide or whatever a use beyond autosell. The spears and hides are seeing at least some use too, or people are at least considering it.

+1 on this. If anything,  you've been drip feeding too slowly. My needs for gear have outstripped crafting optiond, and only the expensive market items have been fitting the bill
