Yeah I really am sorry to chicken out, wanted to make some excitement happen. But this would be a death sentence - the problem is that I would be shooting 1 arrow every 2 rounds, versus 2 arrows every 1 round from them. Their ranged DPS outmatches mine by a factor of 4, roughly. I considered melee range but that would be suicidal too (I would likely eat an arrow or two to the chest whilst running up to them).
Someone with a platemail could have done this with bare fists.

Cerg is a pretty poor shot. If you check the description of the bows it alludes to the fact that you need to be good with a bow to use them effectively. At -3 AC and an additional -2 from range, Cerg is not hitting anyone. Out of the 10 arrows they got 1, maybe 2, hit. So he's running to melee.
Trata is better, but not by that much. Half the time he will run out of arrows before dealing the final blow (arrows have an average expected damage of 3.5) and then he's running into melee too.
If Olybeth survives Trata's missile barrage she is home free- with 17 agility keeping the militiamen away is a piece of cake, while you pelt them with bolts like a turkey on thanksgiving.
