A flurry of activity is still very much present in the mud pits, but now a few Gnomes have started shaping the mud into satisfying squishy bricks. They lighten when left in the sun and, sure enough, harden into a usable crafting material.

Meanwhile, 3 Gnomes still brave the wilderness in search of edible food. A collection of starchy tubers is brough back to add to the candy, peanut and mushroom assortment. Delicious! You wonder about the long term viability of leaving a pile of mostly organic edible produce on the ground like this... But that's a problem for future Gnomes! So glad you're not those guys.

One Gnome starts trying to organise some sort of brick supervision, forgetting his fellows are the kind of stubborn Gnomes who get drunk till the wee hours in an enchanted forest irregardless of whether it's a good idea or not. Nobody seems to listen - what you need is nice pliable, happy worker Gnomes... Laborer Layabout Gnomes, the kind who take well to being given directions.

Gather more mud

Until told otherwise I will continue to gather mud for the brick makers. Or, you know, I run out of room to put the mud.

After a long day of work, everybody eats [-5 food].

The Gnomes of the clearing fall into a dishevelled rhythm, digging up mud and making bricks and lazily foraging for food in no real organised structure. One Gnome starts offering to buy everyone drinks should they every find the pub again. Another climbs the tallest mud pile and takes a nap.

It seems to be a lazy, disjointed kind of day, but slow progress is made. A few more bricks are ready for use, and some me edible grubs are brought back from the forest. The mud piles grow towards the sun incrementally.
