Scourges are actually unmodded; whips are the only weapon with RAW changes. Mostly because whips velocity of 5x combined with its hit area of 1 is silly and needed nerfed, while scourge's only have velocity of 2x and hit are of 10, which feels a lot more fair (that's the same as a morningstar or warhammer actually, though obviously other stats are different).

I am still worried about zeps doing meaningful damage with the scourge's pitiful penetration depth. I feel like it'll be pretty unlikely to hit vitals with it, so I think zeps will probably need to rely on just inflicting lots of pain and bleeding. But we'll see

It seems like most folks are betting on Carabella the Fast, but I’m going to stick with my boy Logem. Hopefully he can avoid getting pincushioned.

100 gold on Logem Branchsyrup the wolverine man.

Right, only whip was modded, cool! Maybe the pain will be enough to render the beast unconscious.

I also am interested in seeing carabella fight. I can't fathom how a ranged character can succeed in this tournament.

A ranged character winning is going to largely rely on a lucky hit, even more than usual. A good hit can end a fight in one shot, but if they miss or fail to land a telling blow, they usually get wrecked. I'm not going to underestimate Carabella after what happened to Squirtplank in his fight.

Ine’s manager Meng slips 40 on zeps, hoping his family consortium doesn’t get word of it.

The delegation from the Learned Order of Brass and Fire will place a bet of 60 gold on Stimraug's victory.

I know! Also I no longer have a gladiator to protect me. I've therefore come to the logical conclusion that my money is a lot safer when stored in the betting office.
