Turn 10
╚═━┈┈━═╝

Early Winter Year 1
TURNTURNTURN

The Glowing Manta drifts languidly into port, all goods present and accounted for. The crew depart the vessel in a daze, with no explaination as to where they had been or why they were late. The only spoke of making acquaintance with someone called Nemoy, but when asked about them, they could not recollect a single detail, other then he was Happy. The Captain produced a peculiar item with a distant expression, mumbling about it being a gift. It was a dome of glass with a wooden base. Inside the glass dome sat a castle made of ice, and when tipped upside down and righted, tiny flakes of snow would drift down, making it look like a snowstorm. The castle did not melt.

How strange! Owners of the Glowing Manta may:
- Sell the item to an occult collector at the docks, gaining 8s total.
- Risk selling the item to Auction for the chance at a higher bid, but could be lower
- Gift the item to the palace for 2 Royal Favor to each Glowing Manta shareholder

The crew seemed to be quite at ease as they meandered into the Capitol.

The Lady Igraine was seen boarding her boat today. While there was much discussion on funding her venture, only one official bid was submitted to her office. Working with Kashkow Enterprises, her charts were set Southwest. She boasts to be more expedient then her fellow noble Ferdinand Hiptapamoose Rochester.

The price of sand ticks up slightly as a new glassblower has setup shop in the Capitol. The price of meats drops slightly but remains robust - Preserved Meats are considered a delicacy and even many nobles have yet to get their hands on the new foodstuff.

Prices
Sand - 0.45 Sovereigns per Unit [+0.01]
Preserved Meats - 1.01 Sovereigns per Unit [-0.01]

Ship - 12 Sovereigns per Ship [carries 10 units]

Sacred Animals roaming Free - Ridiculous!
All is quiet in the Capitol.  The Snow White Dove will not be seen again until Late Spring Year 3.

Ships & Voyages
The Glowing Manta is docked with a cargo of Preserved Meats.
The Audacious Crustaceous is docked with a cargo of Sand.
The Crazy Aywen set sail to Northland and will return end of Late Winter Year 1 with a cargo of Preserved Meats.
The Lead Catfish is docked with a cargo of Sand.

Destinations from the Capitol
NearEastland - It takes 2 Turns to travel here. Ships return with Sand. (Public Charts)
Northland - It takes 3 Turns to travel here. Ships return with Preserved Meats. (Exclusive Charts owned by NRC)

Ports
The Great and Regal Capitol!! Hear Hear!!

Mechanics
Holding Trade Goods: You may store up to 7 units of trade goods in your personal establishments before it starts spilling out onto the streets. You can still directly sell from your ship as usual, this just applies to storing goods between turns. Warehouses will be available for rent or purchase in the next few turns (trying to slow my roll a little bit about introducing new mechanics :,))

Royal Favor Costs available : You can now spend your Royal Favor, information moved to Post 2.

Choices Choices.

0.2 loss, so 2.11 left. This is not up to date, just moving it here to edit later.
Spoiler: Corsair Inc. (click to show/hide)
It would be a bit rude, but we could embargo the Sand route to force people to pay for the Meat route. Other than that... Would reducing the cost of ships be a better deal than the Sovereigns. I think so.

In order to actually do so we need one other to pledge 2 Favor though, and we'd spend all the favor we get. So would need to be a unanimous decision among the shareholders. The immediate benefit would be more ships sailing the routes.

ACTACTACT: Sell 2 Preserved Meats for 2.02s, sell 2 Sand for 0.9s

I'm assuming that each shareholder of the Crazy Aywen deducted the 0.15s per share required to rent the charts from their funds.
NRC: 1.5/7=Each NRC share receives 0.21s. The NRC retains the 0.03s remainder, added to the 0.02 already held.

a1s, you're good to repay your loan this turn, I trust?

Quote from: Dizzy Pike contract
The undersigned agree to share-based joint ownership of a trading vessel to be named "Dizzy Pike", which shall initially traverse the Northlands route.
Each investor receives shares equal to the number of 1.2 Sovereigns they contribute. 10 shares are available. Each share entitles the holder to 1/10th of the goods delivered by the Dizzy Pike upon returning to harbour. Each share also requires the holder to pay 1/10th of any costs incurred in the regular operation of the vessel (eg repairs and chart costs), failure to pay resulting in shares being seized and auctioned, with proceeds paid out to remaining shareholders.
Shareholders of Dizzy Pike shall be automatically charged full repair costs (unless they choose to fail to pay.) Full repairs may be substituted for partial or no repairs by a majority vote of shareholders.
Any changes to the Dizzy Pike's operations require a majority of shares to agree. Any changes to this contract require all shares to agree.

Signed,
-Radiant Trading for 4.8s (+0.6s chart costs)

I'd sign the Pike contract if we reduced the cost of ships.

I've got 7.12 available anyway. But we do need to resolve the Glowing Manta item frst.

Let's have a vote on which option to go with. Technically we only need a majority, I'd argue, but ideally we'd get a unanimous vote.
I'm on board with getting the Favour, myself.

The CEO of Happy Crab LLC disembarks the Audacious Crustaceous, looking thoughtful.  He then loudly declares to anyone and everyone that he saw nothing unusual during his voyage - though the safety conditions on these voyages are abhorrant.

ACTACTACT:  Petition the Queen to require ship owners provide hazard pay for all sailors in their employ.  So long as strange happenings are occurring at seas, the men who risk their lives should at least be properly compensated.

ACTACTACT:  solicit mathematicians, architects, shipwrights, and engineers for a safer method of loading and unloading cargo.

ACTACTACT: sell 10 sand for 0.45s each.

ACTACTACT: request the Queen that the Audacious Crustaceous be considered for the Public Tender of the Western Trade Route. (If not, the Audacious Crustaceous will travel the NearEastland instead).

Hoping KashKow see this, but are you possibly interested in sharing exclusivity rights to me and/or Monkey corp (assuming they are still interested in the chart.) by us paying equal to what is prescribed in the Shipowner's Initiative (1.34s) for the chart?

I thought it was 0.12 per share? It's still a better deal than sand, so I will pay the 0.75s I owe, but just wondering when that changed.

Numerous Shipowners have pooled together their resources, but the cost of ships are too much. It reduces the amount of ships trading goods and weakens the economy. The new price applied as of last turn, we changed it the turn before that.
Quote from: NRC Price Change Vote
Change the price of Northland charts from 1.2s to 1.5s.
Price change to take effect from Turn 9 onwards.
Majority of shares (4+) required to approve change.

-Radiant Trading (3 shares):
-Corsair Incorporated (3 shares): YES
-Fairchild Enterprises (1 share): YES
For anyone it may concern the price to head on our Northland route will be 1.5s next turn.
Quote from: Crazy Aywen NRC Chart Contract
Crazy Aywen shall make use of the NRC's Charts to change their Route, sailing to Northland for Preserved Meats.
0.12 must be paid for each stock owned to the NRC, for a total of 1.2s each trip. Otherwise this contract becomes void.
When the NRC Changes the Price, it is reflected on this Contract.

Recurring clause:
Unless otherwise voted on for a new route or a change of the "Crazy Aywen's" initial charter contract, every time the "Crazy Aywen" returns to port the shareholders must buy the chart from the NRC.
-Monkey Corps(2 shares)

I'll get the ball rolling, I looked at the NRC contract and yup it is per journey. I am willing to put the bird on the "Crazy Aywen" for no charge.

Edit: Added a Recurring clause so we don't have to keep making the contract again.
The price is 1.5 as of this turn (we changed it last turn).

Barring those with Favor barring the Sand Trade, likely won't get much better in the short term.

Ah, but a true business man also looks to the long term. We need more trade opportunities. I think we are the limit with profitability right now with the ships to routes there are. So waiting until a new route opens for sand trade(as in another port looking for sand) or something else that seems more profitable than sand to sell my sand seems more advantages. I've done the math, I sell the 1 sand now my share of the Lead catfish finally gives me a profit. Or I wait and get more of a profit?
