Well with most things seemingly settled, I'll be paying KashKow back 1.6s of the 2.6s I owe.

Turn 7
╚═━┈┈━═╝

Early Autumn Year 1
TURNTURNTURN
Repairs and New Horizons
Hear ye Hear ye! Both the Crazy Aywen and Lead Catfish were seen leaving port in ship shape condition, arguably even more impressive then when they were first built. It seems the Shipwrights have really improved since the start of the year.

There was quite the crowd to see off the merchant ships today as the Glowing Manta and Crazy Aywen are all trailblazing the new route to Northland. Who knows what sights they may see?

The Award Ceremony
Following the morning spectacle, the crowds dispersed towards the palace. After a ramshackled dove themed parade, sans lumber, the hunters and Owner of MonkeyCorp were brought before the court to present the successfully captured Snow White Dove to the Queen. Her Majesty was delighted, and requested use of the bird to paint some portraits. MonkeyCorp gained +2 Royal Favor with the Crown.

Earl Grey, moustache twirling disgraced noble, was heard muttering under his breath and stomping out of the celebration. Supposedly he planned to rent out use of the creature for exorbitant prices had his Hunters succeeded.

Monkey Corp and their retainers were treated to a banquet that evening where they were some of the first to eat the preserved meats. Before they left the palace they were reimbursed 1 Sovereign.

Please add the following Sacred Animal to your inventory in whatever format you see fit:
Quote from: Sacred Anime: Snow White Dove
Snow White Dove
When placed on a ship, 25% increased chance of a safe, uneventful voyage. This is not trade route specific.

The dove shall be available for use from Mid Autumn Year 1 onwards. The ship must be docked in port for the Dove to be loaded onto it. If you wish to move the dove between ships, both must be docked in the same port at the same time. As usual, you may wheel and deal and create contracts around this asset as you see fit.

The Market Adjusts
Sand absolutely floods into the market causing a precipitous drop in prices. While the industry was starting to really ramp up, production simply cannot keep up with this influx of supply, and Sand is currently a very affordable option for everyone. In light of this, a group of young budding artists have created things called 'sand sculptures', which frankly will never catch on.

Sand, Sand everywhere
Seeing piles of sand starting to leak out of Merchant domiciles, the Crown Auditors have started violently dismantling polishing up the slums disused warehouse district to make it operational.

Lady Igraine accepts Donations
Being outdone by Ferdinand has lit a fire under Lady Igraine. A towering robust woman in possession of one handsome nose, Igraine has made a passionate declaration to "sail the unsung seas". She has made a request for donations, with the highest bidder able to pick any non cardinal direction for her to chart a course to, because 'cardinal directions are for cowards, wotwot'. She requires 4 Sovereigns to be convinced to sell her charts exclusively, or the highest bidder if multiple 4s sovereigns are presented. She will collect donations until Early Winter Year 1, and will set sail the very same month.

Prices
Sand - 0.43 Sovereigns per Unit [-0.03]
Preserved Meats - 1 Sovereign per Unit

Ship - 12 Sovereigns per Ship [carries 10 units]

Sacred Animals roaming Free - Unacceptable!
All is quiet in the Capitol.  The Snow White Dove will not be seen again until Late Spring Year 3.

Ships & Voyages
The Glowing Manta set sail to Northland and will return end of Late Autumn Year 1 with a cargo of Preserved Meats.
The Audacious Crustaceous set sail to NearEastland and will return end of Mid Autumn Year 1 with a cargo of Sand.
The Crazy Aywen set sail to Northland and will return end of Late Autumn Year 1 with a cargo of Preserved Meats.
The Lead Catfish set sail to NearEastland and will return end of Mid Autumn Year 1 with a cargo of Sand.

Destinations from the Capitol
NearEastland - It takes 2 Turns to travel here. Ships return with Sand. (Public Charts)
Northland - It takes 3 Turns to travel here. Ships return with Preserved Meats. (Exclusive Charts)

Ports
The Great and Regal Capitol!! Hear Hear!!

... I'm not going to be getting a loan from you am I. (That was the only way I was going to get a ship of my own anytime soon.)

Quote from: Shipowner's Initiative
In the interests of expanded borders, the Shipowner's Imitative seeks for ownership of the charts Lady Igraine creates. As such, the undersigned agree to pay an equal amount for an Exclusive Contract the payees have free access to.
-Corsairs Incorporated

Tl:dr- The more people sign, the cheaper a bid will be. Sorry Kashykk, but I'm not really interested in you getting exclusive ownership when that also means I won't even be able to buy a ship for that route.

The Lead Catfish is, to my knowledge, not sailing to Northland? It should be sailing to NearEastland.

Yep! Likely won't happen in the first year but mentioned in the opening post:

Quote from: Opening post
Some islands will have old Empire settlements on them, who will buy resources for different prices then the Capitol. Determining their prices is a task that takes time and investment, but can be very rewarding, allowing you to plan more lucrative routes.

Port town prices won't be readily apparent - both the demand modifiers need to be researched and the routes between port and trade resource discovered. However, you might find goods that have grown tiresome in the captiol are higher sell price in port, or you might discover a trade route for a hot commodity that's shorter to port then the capitol.

The Lead Catfish set sail to Northland and will return end of Late Autumn Year 1 with a cargo of Preserved Meats.

gosh, not sure how I managed that one but thankyou for the catch! All fixed now

Business is business Tric, no hard feelings. If you do outbid me, you'll no doubt be in need of that loan after all.

The Northern Route Cooperative pays out 0.34 per share. 0.02 is kept in the NRC pool for now.

Well now, I am willing to take bids on the use of my Snow White Dove. Obviously will have to wait to use it when a ship is in port...

Actually I won't need it, cause I'd be broke. And if you get it I won't get it, cause you're broke. And I had planned a 5s Loan with 6s repayment too.

Had some discussion on the discord about bidding procedure (and how this rules update could accidentally cause some playing chicken shenanigans) so I've removed the weird stipulation while I think about it some more.

I think for now if everyone just endeavours to act in good faith to each other, and if there are any issues we'll try to work through them. Or feed people to the crab gods, whichever works best.

In other news I'll probably aim for Sunday for the next update. But feel free to ask for an extension if you need one, particularly after the long delay last turn.

At this point don't think anyone is willing to counterbid. We're all broke.
