As a preview of what is to come I didn't have any ideas for a fort so I brought my three year old son into the project and let him decide what we were gonna do. I'm gonna write a 100% serious report following all his decisions
"So where do we wanna build our town? We got spooky forests, nice hills, oceans, swamps, snowy places-"
"I want to do snow places!"
"Okayyyy" -spends a minute looking around the map at all the different frozen regions
"So we got snowy water areas and snowy mountain areas and-"
"Snowy mountains!"
"Okay! Well, uh. What kind of animals do we want?" I start listing and he says a few different ones with varying enthusiasm, but when we reach chickens he shouts "Chickens I want chickens!"
"Awesome, buddy!"
"Okay, the group needs a picture like to put on a flag. What should be on the picture?"
"Sheep!"
"Okay, sheep that's cool. Like one sheep, or a few or a lot?"
"A lot of sheep" he giggles
"What are they doing?"
"Eating grass!"
-there's no action option for eating or anything similar-
"Okay perfect! Sheep! So what should they call their group?"
"Horse!"
"Okay, like just one horse?"
"yeah just one horse"
"Perfect"
Okay, one more thing. What are they gonna name the town?
"Freezing!"
"Won't let me pick freezing is freeze okay"
"Yeah! Freeze is okay!"
"Okay. What should this town go and do?"
"Stop bad people!"
"Oh I love that! Anything else"
"They should stop monsters too!"
"That is great!"
I'm regularly bringing him in to make the major decisions of our fortress and I'm going to give the report as seriously as I can. The best part so far is interpreting his decisions in a way that works in the game
