Seeing two of your allies in dire straits, you've opted to do what you can to interrupt The Inquisitor's attack and drop to your knees as you fire a tight burst of focused arcane energy from your fingers. Your lower angle of attack does well to direct the impact of the blasts across the ground as opposed to striking and dissipating at a harsher angle. Sand explodes upwards and The Inquisitor is forced to cover the eye holes in his mask, giving Hathram a moment to roll away and recover before retreating. The sudden fury of a dense miniature sandstorm catches The Inquisitor off-guard for a very brief moment, and Carter falls to the ground as the Tether is severed.
Talys, who was waiting for an opening to strike, is now overflowing with concentrated energy and can not hold her attack any longer. She fires a dense, powerful bolt of lightning that cracks through the air and leaves the hairs on your arms and neck standing on end. The sand cloud has partially obscured The Inquisitor though, and Talys misses her attack as a result of your actions. The bolt passes by The Inquisitor harmlessly and explodes in a shower of sparks against the magical shielding keeping the crowd relatively safe.
Angered and looking for a little payback, Carter rapidly advances and fires a gout of flame from his mouth. The billowing stream of fire engulfs The Inquisitor before he can completely recover from the sand attack.
Angered (at you) and looking to make up for her (your) mistake, Talys begins to channel energy for another enhanced spell.
Hathram is preoccupied with his lack of an aura. Having been entirely drained of his aura, he'd either need a tincture or a full night's rest to recover his spellcasting ability - or a friendly kick-start.
