There's very few rules in this game. Please tend to them. Again they are:

1. Color your spell, red for Lift, blue for Sink, and limegreen for Sow.

Thats just darkling theme. Set it in your profile. I use it myself

If you want the 'Darkling' theme, it's:
Profile -> Modify Profile -> Look and Layout -> Current Theme -> (change) -> Darkling -> [Use this theme]

ZL has always been a tough one to get right. There are exponential qualities about it, that is to say every update is harder than the last, and by a greater amount. I am sorry for wasting your time, I thought maybe time would dilute the difficulty.
