Eleazar looks away from the screen, and notices the many injuries on his body. He is suddenly overcome with pain, and asks the ship if there is any healing items or zones in it.
The ship doesn't responds, however. Instead, the Narrator speaks out. "Uhhhh... Ummmmmmm... Okay. Go through that hall and then to the left. The door infront of you should be the Health Pool."
Eleazar walks along the path told to him and finds the Health Pool. It is a large room with a pool of green liquid in the middle of it. He figures that he should jump into it. As he soaks himself in the green water, he feels his wounds disappear away. He climbs out and returns back to the main room.
He decides to do some marital art training to pass the time. He hits the empty air infront of him with impressive agility.
Eleazar tries to increase his Speed stat (14<): 8
He feels that his affinity of his art has been refreshed, but nothing more.
Eleazar then reflected on how hurt he was, and the fact that the deer kid shouldn't have the monopoly on healing. He is a master of Psychoaugmentation, he gave it his years, surely he could come up with a way to seal wounds using it.
He punches the floor with force and makes his knuckles bruise. Then he concentrates on the idea that the body is the tool of the will.
Eleazar tries to self-heal (13<): 15 (Partial Success)
He feels the bruises on his hand heal up. He inspects his mana reserves to see that they were emptied. He quickly Respites, and comes to understand his brand new spell. He names it [Restore].
Lemmy ponders the small arcane object in his hand. It felt tingly to touch, and emitted a very low hum that its parent body definitely didn't.
He had to admit that he was in some unknown territory, here. This thing had infinite mana. Somehow. Mana was either gained from living things or created artificially using matter and energy as substance. Which meant that it was limited. Sure, gods had infinite mana, but that mana came from a divine soul and therefore had a reason to be.
This didn't made sense. Where was this mana coming from? Who could've invented such a technological miracle?
Ornos knew. Probably. He built one, so he should know. Lemmy decided that was another question for another time.
Now to focus on what it
did.
It emitted a very small amount of mana constantly. The fact that it was broken seemed to be reason for that. It was simply leaking out from it. He tried to focus on the magic coming out of the black shard like he heard from the casters. Like how they focus on their internal power or something.
Nothing happened. He wasn't a magical being. He had no ability to control or store this power. It would not obey and burn him if it ever got into him.
So he thought of something else. Charms, wands, staffs, potions, and all sorts of other magic items existed for those who weren't inherently magical. He could make a charm or sorts with the shard, maybe? Technically he already did it before, while using the ice shard to transfer the magic into him back at the comet moon dungeon.
He picked one of the many cardboard boxes and put the shard inside it, then closed the box and walked back. And after that, he tried to focus as he did before, provoking the mana to transfer itself into the box, and not to him.
Lemmy tries to create a charm (15<): 15 (lol)
The box started to shake, and then it started to contort as unknown symbols started to get seared onto it by the power of the mana that it contained. It took the color of a red, orange and yellow mesh, kinda resembling lava in coloration. Then two large eyes appeared on it, then a wide mouth, which formed a face that emoted great discomfort.
The box spoke in a masculine yet thin and reverbed voice. "I am too large.. for this... two dimensional... lower narrative structure! TOADY-"
The box went up in flames. Lemmy did not understand. So he took the completely unaffected shard back from the pile of ashes and started to contemplate the clue from the last obelisk.
Velklin, after hearing that Lemmy had an obelisk shard, quickly rushed to the human and requested a gander at it. But Lemmy refused, so Velklin never got his wish and died of sadness shortly after.
That's how he felt, if you asked him, that is.
No matter. He had his own magic. And he knew how to use it.
So he decided that it was time to spellcraft. A spell to make sure he never needed to use his hooves to attack again. He had read some stuff about mana getting duplicated when casted at very specific ways. Which made the applications of it very limited. But it would be the basis of this spell nontheless.
He thinks of and forms [Luminous Dart], using his expertise in his divine school of magic and the knowledge of mana duplication. It is a spell that can be cast with no mana lost at its lowest level of power, and may be expanded into a cloud of projectiles to deal large amounts of damage that increased with mana spent.
What about telekinesis, however? Velklin wasn't willing to let the potential utility of moving objects around with the power of magic go to waste. So he tried to use it to add onto his own applied force. After all, it wasn't his body being directly moved this time.
And he succeeds. As he jumps, he uses telekinesis to add onto his upward momentum, and jolts high into the air, then right to the ceiling. He is successfull. He guesses.
He tries this again, and again, and again. He learns tue hard limits of this tactic. Firstly, it was too inelegant. The spell was never meant to be used for boosting oneself. Secondly, it still wasn't exactly the boost of speed he wanted. Sure, he could use it to launch himself with a small skip, but launching and then preserving that momentum costed a constant, considerable drain on mana for the duration of the movement.
He could do it, but there really were major setbacks to it, and it still couldn't be used in combat scenarios, besides fleeing off.
Maybe he was better off with it as a mere utility spell.
Narrator announced his presence after a long break. "Since you guys are unwilling to order this ship to move; Ship, reach Heyam-72 e and enter orbit."
That announcement gave Burt and Isabam ideas. For Burt, that was push-ups. He saw Su Lin do it, and he wanted some too. Su Lin liked that attitude, and offered assistance in training for the deer guy.
Burt does pushups (13-2<): 11, 2, 18
At the end of it, Burt was exhausted. But he felt somewhat stronger too. Maybe life
was more than senseless ships and empty boxes.
Isabam, however, was thinking ahead. She knew that the fortress was on a mountain of sorts, and that they would most likely need to mountain climb to it. So she goes on searching to find some rope or stone picks or anything that can be used for climbing.
Isabam Butsha searches for climbing equipment: 7
She only managed to find a single, albeit very long rope. Which is a shame, she thought, but it was also better than nothing at all, she supposed. She returned back to the others, just in time to see the ship entering the cold and barren planets orbit.
The planet was a sphere of dark, bluish gray, which looked very depressing and sad from afar.
"Alright, we are here, finally. Descend down and pinpoint that fortress. Go on."
