"NO NO NO NO NO"

There is nothing between you and Geshemblos, now.

Velklin peers into the mind of Geshemblos. He learns that the skink god is actually a household god of fire, heat, territoriality and fortresses.

"MINE! THIS IS MIIINEEE33É@#$!!"

Only when he looks into its heart, does he understands that the poor lizard is as scared as he. Scared of fading away, holding onto the artifact to soak up its power to keep a shadow of its former self, always irritated and uncomfortable due to the magic it absorbs being foreign to its body. It doesn't has the capacity to understand why it has to let go. It only cares about not letting go.

Geshemblos seems exhausted, and cannot muster summoning another wave of minions. Eleazar sees that if they shatter its legs, it will surely come down the obelisk. Otherwise, there is nothing. It is just a square room.

You can't kill what is essentially an idea. But you can still dislodge it off the obelisk. Attack the legs!

GESHEMBLOS IS DOWNED!

BATTLE OVER

The now-legless god goes limp, and Geshemblos' torso cracks and shatters into a million pieces, then all the shards evaporate into thin air. What remains is a skink-sized, limbful skink made lime and red glass, wiggling uselessly on the ground. It may look pitiful now, but it did almost took you all out a mere half a minute ago.

The final obelisk is available for activation, and Geshemblos is up for adoption.

Su Lin is pleased to know that the fight below has ended on their favor. He, being the one and only devout worshipper of Ornos, had special privlidges, such as being able to see what Ornos was currently seeing.

He has been thinking on how Geshemblos could keep that large of a form without worship, and he had inquired the ship AI for any inhabitance in the system. As far as ship could tell, though, there was absolutely no other living being besides them in this star system. None of the worlds here contained life.

Then he realised the fact that Geshemblos was siphoning power frok the obelisk, using it to sustain a more powerful form, which ceased to be when he was forcefully removed from the artifact. Now it wriggled on the ground helplessly, and Ornos was even attmepting to soothe his brother. He found this rather touching.

Sadness is temporary, however, but the grind is eternal. Su Lin starts his workout routine, and he tries getting Lemmy to join him, seeing the teenager as frail and defenseless.

Code: [Select]
Lemmy joins if HEADS, not if TAILS
Lemmy's workout success (10<): 1
Su Lin's workout success (13<): 5

Lemmy sweats an ocean and passes out from exhaustion after half a push up, and Su Lin has a pretty ordinary workout session. He feels quite unchanged.

They wait for the others to return so they can leave this decrepid system behind forever.

(Umm... i said "Mass Heal" not "Blazing Sun"... I write those combat strategy notes for a reason.

Anyway, i'll write my action once i've gotten some sleep- and the situation above is resolved, or at least explained.)

DAMMIT!

I SAW PASSIVE AND MY MIND AUTOCORRECTED IT TO YOUR PREVIOUS ACTION!

Though, come.to think of it, you actually had a higher chance to lose if you did mass heal. Your false actions made sure Geshemblos only attacked once. Only one of you had the HP pool to weather more than two successful blows.

Encourage Geshemblos to go free instead of being bound to our quest.

Touch the obelisk.

In that case, i won't bother writing an action yet, as you'll re-correct it, right? :) As in addition, apparently my three crystalline golems just simply ceased to exist?
And well, for Mass Heal being more likely to result in a loss... So be it; Let players make mistakes.

"Well that was easier that I expected it to be."
Grab Geshemblos and shove him in my pocket then figure out how to get out of the hole.

I got myself in a pickle here. lol. I really need to stop getting carried away. Now either We do Strif3's action correctly and risk losing, or allow a logic failure.

Hmmmm... I will do a retcon though... Maybe the golem will still win you the fight?

W00t! Saved by a technicality!

Velklin
:■■ ▪▪▪▪▪ ▪▪▪▪▪
:▫▫▫▫▫ ▫▫▫▫▫  □□□□

"Phew! Those were some close calls!" Exclaims Velklin, apparently quite pleased with himself. Though, his elation is slightly dampened as he looks at the quickly dissolving chunks of sun-hued crystal that made up his summoned golems and sighs, proclaiming "Your sacrifice wasn't in vain, guys. We wouldn't have been able to do it without you..." then closing his eyes letting out another sigh into his helmet. And perhaps, Velklin is more right than he could imagine...

He drops onto his knees, sitting down on the ground to get a closer look at Geshemblos' now pitiful form. Velklin feels sorry for it, doubly so, since he was the one to peer into Geshemblos' heart. Velklin observes the little skink wriggling on the ground for a bit, until he is struck by an idea. He explains to Geshemblos as if he expects Geshemblos to reply, or even understand. "Umm... You wanted energy, right? That's why you were clinging onto the obelisk- and you kinda have a need to protect stuff, right? I have a divine soul with a ton of excess energy that sorta just... goes unused. And i always kinda feel vulnerable. M-maybe we can help each other! Let go of your physical body and coil yourself around my soul. You get an eternal source of energy you can subside off of and i get a friend i can summon to protect me- an Eidolon! How's that sound?"

"Umm, maybe a little mana will convince you? You were able to siphon energy off of the obelisk, so i should be able to as well, just as easily." Velklin turns his head up to look at the other members of the team, especially at Burt, who seems quite eager to pick up Geshemblos himself. Velklin gives Burt a pleading, "Can i keep him?" kind of look. "Once we've got the final piece of the puzzle, i'll drain the obelisk for mana, since i'm all out... I'll wait though, incase doing so deactivates it. I'll use it to heal everyone, too! "

Action Recap
Action 1: Wait for the obelisk to be activated, then draw mana from it to fill up my mana reserves.
Action 2: Cast [Mass Heal] until everyone is healed, replenishing any mana lost from the obelisk.
Action 3: Try to get Geshemblos to abandon it's physical shell and bind itself to me. If Geshemblos is unresponsive, do it for him, since i assume it is the preferable option for him to being stuck in the form of a tiny skink...
Combat Strategy: N/A

Squad:
  • None :(  R.I.P. Stevie, Steven and Steve.

(It goes without saying, but i obviously, if i get the ability to, want to be able to summon Geshemblos in the form we just fought him in. Yes, i expect [Summon Eidolon: Geshemblos] to be an expensive spell. Possibly consuming all 50 Mana. This is acceptable. :P)

Su Lin
'An ignorant friend can lead you astray, but a true friend will enlighten your way.'

Knowing what Su Lin knows now, Su Lin wonders what is going on in his companion's heads. Velklin in particular seemed like he was about to make a mistake. The whole ordeal with Geshemblos happened because Geshemblos was corrupted by foreign magic. Offering him yet more foreign magic was just begging for trouble!

Su Lin felt certain that the best way to help Geshemblos was to simply do the same thing as he did with Ornos; which is to simply believe in it, and perpetuate the idea of the god within his own mind. This is the manner in which this deity had traditionally sustained its existence, and would alleviate its need of the obelisk.

Action 1: Su Lin invokes Soothing Song
Action 2: Su Lin believes in Geshemblos.
Action 3: Su Lin attempts to meditate to better understand the Dao of Fire.

"Well that was....     Wait what happened, something feels different but also exactly the same it's like we fought that lizard thing twice but both fights had the same outcome.....     Am I the only one who experienced that?"
Looking around and seeing how everyone in the room was trying to get a hold of the little lizard thing, Burt felt it was a safe bet that he was the only one who had experienced that.

"You guys know you might kill that lizard thing if you people start fighting over it right?"
Shove Eleazar out of the way and grab Geshemblos before he can, so we can figure out who gets it without risking killing it.
