EDIT: Funk did update the "Plunderers of the black Necropolis" game... But didn't post here? I'd consider that a terminal level of neglect.
I'm honestly not quite quite sure what by a character is doing relative to what ever else is going on right now in this story.

Still i'm sorry if you feel that my updating schedule is holding up the , if it bad enough i'm willing to step away an let some else have the slot.

Game wise i'll hit what ever is in front of me or take the left hand turn.

It's fine. We feel you. We all feel you. All of us do. All of us.

Hey my vote counted without me even having to vote.

Which ultimately didn't matter since they both got here anyway. Hey, maybe we should threaten them with being skipped more often, eh?

You shouldn't really get offended by anything i say. Half of any one of my posts' content is just me being a smartass. Or a dumbass... occasionally.
And you're not really holding up a slot; I'm pretty sure this is an open game, where any number of people can join if they want. Unless Magma intends to limit it once the game reaches the maximum number of players he feels he can handle. If so, i don't don't think we've reached it yet.

FAKE-EDIT: I finally parsed the initial sentence correctly. Damn my morning-brain. Right, sounds like you'd need a summary to catch you (and any readers/lurkers) up to the story and help you orient yourself. A dungeon map certainly wouldn't hurt either in the current situation. I'll be entirely honest, i'm pretty confused by the layout of the current dungeon were in as well. Thankfully it's almost over- But you, magmacube, better work on the presentation for the next one. :P

Alright, alright. A map would be great. Here is the one for the current dungeon you are in. Since you have already completed it, I see no reason to withold it till next turn.

Now you get? The dotted squares are levers, and the diamond is the obelisk.

Maps are always great :)). No matter the occasion.

And that's kinda what i settled on it looking like in my mind. But i was under the impression that the main room was a large round one and the two side paths sort of wrapped around it on either side. But i suppose that would come through better on a drawn map, like the ones you did for the star and system map. *wink wink*

Although, if you learn the art of table-fu, you can create some pretty cool stuff with that, too.
As an example, here is a tablefied version of that map, with some additional utility.

For a moment, there is a standstill. Geshemblos stares into Eleazar's soul, coiling around the obelisk just a bit tighter. Neither side wants to attack first.

Then Burt comes along, and right behind him is Velklin with Ornos on one hand and a charged spell on the other.

Code: [Select]
BATTLE START

PLAYER TURN

Velklin casts [Fullest Moon], using 15 Mana!
The attack permeates the air, all enemies lose 10 HP!
Eleazar casts [Empower], increasing his strength by 3!
Eleazar hits the Soldier of Geshemblos 1: 13+4+2=19
The attack deals 25 HP and defeats the enemy!
ISABAM BUTSHA JOINS IN!
Isabam Butsha hits the Soldier of Geshemblos 8: 17+2+3=21

Steven punches Soldier of Geshemblos 3: 3
The attack is deflected!
Ornos casts [Soothing Song]!
(Enemy dice requirement went from 10< to 15<)

ENEMY TURN
...

While the fight was raging, Lemmy was trying to reach the obelisk by some other way. Maybe he could break the wall? The ice seemed pretty solid, but it was worth a try.

Code: [Select]
Lemmy tries breaking the ice to reach the obelisk: 17
And it works, unbelievably. The wall crumbles with a powerful kick, opening up the way for the obelisk. Why didn't he thought of this before?

Though he soon wishes he hadn't.

Code: [Select]
Resist the telekinetic blast: 1
What greets him is the parasite god himself. Lemmy notices that Geshemblos doesn't have an appreciative look on his face. The resulting telekinetic blast sends him right back through the broken wall and head first into the next. A loud crackling is heard, and he is in the dungeon no more.

BATTLE OVER

Now, it just you and Geshemblos. It seems unwilling to let the obelisk go, and you can't activate the skink god with it coiled around it.

You have some "convincing" to do.

"I- I died. It was a darkness like unto oblivion-" Lemmy had died. His neck was broken in the high speed collision down there at the dungeon. It was his first time dying. And oh man, was it scary.

Just when he swas starting to freak out. He was shushed by someone whisper yelling. "Be quiet. I am trying to hear something out."

"What are you-"

"There is something on the ship."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, it giggles sometimes. It's really faint. We probably didn't hear it before because of how quiet it is. I heard it when I was checking the tractor beam. Just listen."

And here it was. A faint, distant giggling, coming from the depths of the ship. The two looked at eachother, before moving to investigate. The giggles brought them to the bathroom... fountain thingie. They heard the giggling in the room again. Coming from the weird statue that stands in the middle of the water bowl of the fountain.

Very cautiously, Su Lin touches the statue. Nothing happens. It doesn't springs into the air and melts into hot magma. It doesn't laughs like a maniac and makes a 4th wall breaking joke. It is just a statue. That giggles every once in a while. By some unknown mechanism.

No plot relevancy here, just an Easter Egg.

Velklin
:■ ▪▪▪▪▪ ▪▪▪▪▪
:▪▪▪▪▪ ▪▪▪▪▪ □□□□

γ:● ● ● ● ● ● ● ○ ○ ○
"Ooowwwww...!" Cries Velklin, wincing as he rubs his hurt hand, shaking in place as usual. «At least Ornos is unhurt», he thinks. Velklin's gaze is fixed on the giant lizard coiled around the obelisk, his heart pounding in his little chest as he tries to not to just observe it visually - but also reach into it's soul. If it has one. While Velklin always prefers to solve problems without violence, he was afraid that in this instance- it is too late for that- and he preferred not to take the risk. Perhaps if he knew of the connection between Ornos and Geshemblos, he might think differently.

Already hurt, and not wanting to end up in the jaws of a giant skink made of glass, Velklin feels that he is best served staying really far in the back, and reserving all mana for healing, if a fight is to break out. Though, he presents the meekest possible image of himself - his tail fully tucked between his legs and his long, pointy, elf-like ears drooped, while tightly holding Ornos to his chest. Though not tightly enough that he might hurt Ornos.

Action Recap
Action 1: Observe Geshemblos and try to peer into his soul.
Action 2: Act meek and pitiable.
Combat Strategy: Passive. Reserve all mana for [Mass Heal].

Squad:
  • 3 Crystalline Golems
    • "Steve" - 30/30 HP
    • "Stevie" - 30/30 HP
    • "Steven" - 30/30 HP

Su Lin
'Faith in the gods is like a tree rooted in fertile soil, for only with steadfast devotion can it grow tall and strong, reaching towards the heavens where the gods reside.'

Su Lin considers the facts. It seems unlikely that brute force would be an effective method of defeating Geshemblos, which will probably exist so long as there is belief in it. As the ship is not actually stranded here, we could instead travel somewhere else and impair the obstinate deity by tracking down its followers! Su Lin makes an inquiry to the AI for the most probable locations.

Still being without a Space Suit, Su Lin elects to continue training instead of making a foolish attempt to travel to such a small satellite. It then occurs to Su Lin that Lemmy is in dire need of some training as well. Su Lin decides that he should take it upon himself to give Lemmy a few pointers. He might not appreciate the gesture, but its for his own good right?

Action 1: Su Lin inquires to the Ship AI if any of the celestial bodies in the system are habitable.
Action 2: Su Lin trains with the intention of increasing his physical stats.
Action 3: Su Lin imposes training upon Lemmy with the intention of increasing Lemmy's physical stats.

Observe Geshemblos, search for anything that might have been missed, and watch for targets.  same combat strategy as before.
