"Yeah... I did, just a minor intrusion by a false reality. They usually correct themselves invisibly, but sometimes you can experience them for a bit."

"But why do we have to fight at all? Especially since all of you are only fighting over who gets to make Geshemblos suffer. I won't have it. No heals for anyone either."

Adjusted Actions
Action 1: Wait for the obelisk to be activated, then draw mana from it to fill up my mana reserves.
Action 2: Cast [Mass Heal] until everyone is healed, replenishing any mana lost from the obelisk.

Action 1: Drain energy from the obelisk to fill up my mana reserves, without waiting for it to be activated.
Action 2: Use [Telekinesis] to create a shield around me and Geshemblos, to prevent anyone from grabbing him. "Fight if you want, but keep me and Geshemblos out of it!"

You guys do realise that Geshemblos is Ornos' brother? Like, as in a mortal god? Don't expect it to be anything grand. At best it'll be like Ornos, a divine tamagotchi.

I will suggest that everyone trying to fight over him should make "Just go your own way" more appealing.

Velklin stretches his arms, touches, and absorbs mana from the obelisk. It is grating and weird to absorb such rigid, autonomous magic, but soon his soul digests it into pure mana, and it works out. His mana reserves are filled up.

Isabam tries eating the few leftover glass shards, and soon discovers that the flesh of a mortal god is non-matter and therefore dissipates into nothingness without doing anything. Plus it tastes like shit.

Velklin kneels down to Geshemblos, to understand and communicate with him. He tries telling him to give up his form and join with his soul as a summonable symbiote. But he finds the skink god as helpless and unconscious as Ornos was when he emerged from the first obelisk.

So he grabs the skink as his brother plays a soothing song to him and tries to fuse himself with the creature. But just as he thought Geshemblos' being was about to contact his, the skinks soul passes right through his own. No interaction. He tries again and again, to no avail.

A mortal god is essentially just an imaginary friend. They operate on no mana. They exist through the power of belief. And as Velklin fails to fuse, he accomplishes something else. His interaction with Geshemblos has bound him with the skink, and just in moments, Geshemblos stops squirming and rights himself. Velklin's had believed in Geshemblos, rooted for him, which is no different that the said deities sustenance. With his rebounded, albeit still limited lucidity and mindfulness, Geshemblos looks at the demigod deerchild right in the eyes and utters two words.

"fak u"

Code: [Select]
Eleazar uses Envision to heist away Geshemblos: 11+4+3=18
Burt tries to stop him: 8+1=9
Velklin puts up a shield around himself using Telekinesis: 6+10+1=17

Velklin is appalled by the audacity. He tries coming up with something witty to say, but doesn't has the time. He sees a quick flash of blue, and at that moment he understands what is about to happen, so he puts up a telekinetic shield to ward off the thief, but he is just a moment late, and so right infront of his eyes, Geshemblos is snooped away by Eleazar. Velklin also realises that Burt too had also been approaching from behind to get his hands at the glass reptile and seemed upset that the funny blue man had the deity at hand. And the deity at hand was upset too.

"fak u"

"Stop."

"He bonded with me, give him back!"

"Guys, maybe we are overreacting? That thing can die if we are not careful."

"Stop... Stop!"

"Yea tell them bug!"

"fak u"

"Why are you cussing me out now? Cuss out the magicians, they are being stupid!"

"fak u"

"Brother... Mine!.. With me!"

Ornos seemed pissed. Very pissed at the three people which were fighting over to be the person who would keep his brother as a possesion and divine his destiny for him. So he did what he thought best. He grabbed Geshemblos from his waist and lifted him up flying away from everyone, and back to the ship.

There is a shared silence after that. Though it doesn't lasts long as they hear someone else approaching from the entrance. It is Lemmy. Velklin lifts a hand up to protest, but then drops it down with a disgruntled frown.

Lemmy looks around and sighs, having missed the action. But there is one thing he could do, now that he was down here and the obelisk was still unactivated.

With a simple wish inside Lemmy' head, the final obelisk is activated. A wave of thamaturgic essence hits the people around it.

It is a message like the ones before. The essence says the following;

"The fortress you seek resides at the furthest world of this system. Seek the highest mountain at its roof."

Su Lin watches as Lemmy puts on a spacesuit and beams down to the dungeon.

Then he is surprised when Ornos comes back with another of his own kind less than a minute after the kid left. He tunes himself with the beetle god and learns that the he and his brother, while having never got along or agreed on anything, still cared for eachother and that he would uphold that care. Su Lin has none to say about it and lets  Ornos tend to Geshemblos in peace. He believes in the skink god too, though it makes no noticable difference.

To better understand concept of Geshemblos and come to term with his being, Su Lin mediates about the Dao of Fire. He feels the warmth of the hearth, the feeling of familiarity of a home, security of a wall and the pride of a nation.

The response?

Current Characters

Spoiler: Lemmy | (30/30 HP) (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Burt | (20/40 HP) (click to show/hide)

Don't think of the two gods you have as powerful beings nor items. Plotwise, they are beings with their own agency. Like, even if Su Lin were to remove Ornos from his items or try to give him an order to stay at the ship no matter what, the beetle would still roam about as it pleased, and accompany you to battles and sing its song. Though for gameplay purposes, Geshemblos is now an item of Velklin.

They are not supposed to be all that powerful, either.

I am saying all this because you will encounter more of them. How many, I won't tell.

Su Lin
'Let insults fly like birds in the sky, don't let them nest in your mind.'

Su Lin decides against interacting with Geshemblos any further at this time. Though another thought occurs to him. If Ornos had a brother, then perhaps he might have some other siblings? Su Lin figured it was worth asking.

Not wishing to be drawn into the Geshemblos drama, Su Lin takes the opportunity to work out some more.

Action 1: Su Lin asks Ornos if he has any other siblings that he should be thinking about.
Action 2: Su Lin trains with the intention of increasing his physical stats.
Action 3: Su Lin trains with the intention of increasing his physical stats.

"Hmm."

Collect some shards of shattered ice that was animated by god and obelisk power.
Collect some snow too.
Press the shards against the obelisk and use them to draw mana into them, and through them, into my incompatible body.

What, no passive stat bonus from Geshy for me? :P

Velklin
:■■ ▪▪▪▪▪ ▪▪▪▪▪
:■■■■ ▪▪▪▪▪ ▫▫▫▫▫

Velklin shakes his head at the whole ridiculous situation. The narrator couldn't possibly be right, as Velklin cannot believe in gods. So something else must be afoot, or Ornos and his brother are so far below what might be constituted as 'gods', that those rules don't even apply to them. He takes a look over his shoulder at the obelisk and comments "Something made him take that form anyway. Something about this obelisk... I'll find out what." sighing "If he's gonna be vulgar jerk, he might as well be a giant one., so he at least has the size to back up his jerkiness. "

"But maybe he doesn't have to be... Is he a jerk because people believe him to be? What if i believe him to be different- to be better? To be honorable and polite? Oh, right, i should probably heal everyone now-" He stops, casting a look at Eleazar "Except for you- unless you've got something to say for yourself... C'mon! Speak!"

Press the shards against the obelisk and use them to draw mana into them, and through them, into my incompatible body.
"I'm not sure whether that's the dumbest idea ever, or the most brilliant one...  You'll probably either die horribly, or actually discover something amazing! I'll just stand back in case you turn into a firecracker, like Ornos did..." Velklin says trailing off into a bit of a laugh.

Action Recap
Action 1: Study the obelisk, try to find out how it allowed Geshemblos to take the form he did.
Action 2: Believe Geshemblos to be different to than what he is. See if that affects his gestalt.
Action 3: cast [Mass Heal] to heal everyone, then draw more mana from the obelisk to replenish what i've lost. Then head back to the ship.

Beam myself back into the ship, then look around the place for anything that might be useful on our quest.

Leave the wizards to the stuff, go back to the ship and heal up.
