Aren't there a whole bunch of ice summons moving about?

No. They crumbled to ice sprinkles.

If they're all crumbled, then what are you afraid of running into?

"How does keeping my mind clear keep them from seeing us anyway?"
Keep doing that mind clearing thing that Lemmy showed me while I run for the next lever and pull it.

Skinks are made of ice. They don't have eyes or ears or nostrils or skin. They sense presences instead via magic of their creator. If you keep your mind clear, they wont sense you.
Burt might not have realized that yet though.

10 more are due next turn, that is why.

Well, have to try and get it done this turn, then.

(Also, Lemmy won a fight with one of them.  If Lemmy can beat one in a fight, he doesn't have much respect for others being scared of them.  You guys have actual powers and such.)

((It's good then that Velklin doesn't care about being respected. And he also has the excuse of being a wimpy crybaby who is at the risk of being stunlocked lol.

Also, update soon, Magma?))

(That's great... it means Burt has some character. And that opens the door for interesting character interactions, and i'm all about that.)

Enter the dungeon and take the left hand path.

(Gotta give it a few turns to get used to the game and allow the character to develop, since I'm not that good at getting character stuff going right off the bat.}

The Soothing Song comes to an end, and Ornos flies back as a horde of 10 Soldiers of Geshemblos spring up from the floor, and for a moment, they are as still as ice.

Velklin panics as the skinks turn on him. He orders his minions to run, but not before Ornos flies close.

Code: [Select]
If Tails, right. If Heads, left: TAILS
Velklin runs to the right, and Ornos flies along. The skinks give chase, but due to their stubby limbs and awkward bodies, are left behind just for Velklin to gather  himself. He sends Steve-o to his certain death to hold the soldiers off and watches as the golem turn the corridor to be shattered into shreds.

Code: [Select]

BATTLE OVER

By then, Burt had already ran through the opposite room and into the third lever, he pulls it, trying to not stress himself in the process to not trigger another enemy spawn.

Code: [Select]
Burt clears his mind: 14

He doesn't sees any swirling ices, so he assumes everything is fine as is.

On the other side of the dungeon, Lemmy is about to do exact same. Because he was already calm and collected from before, he manages to avoid triggering another spawn also.

And with the last lever pulled, the locked door clicks a final   time and slowly opens to reveal the tall room with the obelisk inside.

And something else too.

A shivering cold envelops the air, and the god of song shakes in fear as he precognitively senses the presence of his brother.

Eleazar and Isabam make their entrance into the dungeon just in the right moment to see the pure, unbridaled reptilian rage on the face of Geshemblos. And a moment after, they are knocked back by the wave of telekinetic magic.

Code: [Select]
Isabam Butsha tries to hold on: 6
Eleazar tries to hold on: 18

Isabam flies back through the entrance and hits the wall with a loud crack. Eleazar holds on still, and lets the magic pass on through. He merely stumbles from the blast. This seems to anger the creature, a giant skink made of immaculately carved, crimson and lime colored glass, wrapped onto the obelisk, which is glowing crimson. It seems angry, but doesn't lunges or approaches at the funny blue man. Instead, it just clings onto the obelisk harder. Its soldiers make a swift turn back to the room and onto Eleazar too, giving up their cautious pursuit of Velklin and go on the defensive, quickly running to block the path.

The big baddie and its minions, it is.

While all the crazy adventure stuff is going on at the heart of the comet, Su Lin is vibing. Well, no, he is actually scratching his head in utter befuddlement. First, The Narrator claims some stupid materialistic shit, and he owns him with facts and logic. Then he checks the ship for any damages. And that is what confuses him. He has checked everything. From the floor to the ceiling, the pipes, the monitors, the walls, that weird haunted fountain with the smiling cube statue that giggles every once in a while- everything. He thinks that the explosion should have damaged something. But the ship as exactly the same as it was before the explosion.

So the checks the cameras. What he sees shocks him. For a single frame, just after he explodes, there is substantial damage. Not in the way of broken pipes, the ruined and blackened floor, sparks and smoke. No. It's void. Vantablack void, appearing like corruption on the recording, covering the area that the explosion affected. Maybe it is corruption, he thinks. The next frame, nothing. The void, gone. Replaced by the sleek shiny unknown metal. All good as new.

There is no ryhme or reason to this.

He sends Steve-o to his certain death to hold the soldiers off and watches as the golem turn the corridor to be shattered into shreds.
I didn't say to do that...

    Anyway.

    Velklin
    :■■ ▪▪▪▪▪ ▪▪▪▪▪
    :■ ▪▪▪▪▪ ▫▫▫▫▫ □□□

Hearing the racket behind him, Velklin spins around with a frantic motion, remarking "T-that doesn't sound good...!", still trembling. He notices Ornos hovering just over his head - shaking just like he is. He tries to soothe the little beetle, saying "Hey, is everything okay, Ornos? Did you get spooked? It's okay, i'm scared, too.", before taking Ornos and holding him close to his chest.  "I'll protect you." He adds reassuringly, despite feeling like he can barely protect himself.

"Maybe the others made it down? C'mon. We've gotta find Burt." Velklin states, looking down at the obvious hoof-prints - several sizes larger than his own - on the ground leading out of this room. "Judging by these- he went that-a-way. Lets go, all of you." He motions for his remaining Crystalline Golems to follow him.

Velklin carefully produces a small, bright pale orb of light between his palms, while continuing to hold Ornos - preparing a cast of [Fullest Moon] - almost as if daring for the skinks to jump out from somewhere and attack him or his little charge.

    Action Recap
Action 1: Grab Ornos. Hug him.
Action 2: Follow Burt. Command all minions to follow.
Action 3: Ready [Fullest Moon]. To be cast as soon as combat begins.
Combat Strategy: Defensive. Stay in the back. Support allies.

    Squad:
    • 3 Crystalline Golems. (30 HP) (RIP Steve-o - Killed by plot induced stupidity.)

"I'm going after the big lizard someone activate the obelisk while I have it distracted."
Keep my mind clear and while I go forth and attack that big lizard that's protecting the obelisk.

    Wait for a telekinetic blast
Go for the floating obelisk from below.  Just try to touch it.

    Su Lin
'Absence makes the heart grow fonder, but the search for what's missing makes it stronger.'

Wait hold on dial it back a bit. What's all this about a haunted fountain with a smiling cube statue that giggles every once in a while? That seems like the sort of thing that should have been mentioned earlier.

The presence of one or possibly several spirits had some very large implications. If someone died on this ship, then why weren't they resurrected? Su Lin approaches the statue and meditates in an attempt to communicate with whatever is at the statue on a spiritual level.

Action 1: Su Lin checks the ship for anything else that may have been missed.
Action 2: Su Lin attempts to communicate with the haunted statue
Action 3: Su Lin activates Soothing Song
