1st Early Summer 1880 - Early Morning
Agua Fria, cheap saloon "Whiskey Hole"
Pat "the Ghost" Gibbet (notquitethere)

Rancher of Agua Fria: "My 'pa said their father was a miner in the old days, and they visited him and helped him often in their youth, so surely they know their way around mountain places, I bet on it."

1st Early Summer 1880 - Early Morning
Agua Fria, cheap saloon "Whiskey Hole"
Miguel Manuello de la Costo (Kashyyk)

"Whiskey Hole" Barkeep: "Curse them both! So many liqour bottles shot and shattered! I had to close the saloon to clean the spills and get my boys to fetch me new liqour from the store down the road. You're after them? Hear this: I was a gunman in my youth, so I recognized the guns Ian and Michael used, the former had a Peashooter whilst the other carried a Rev '75 with him. I heard rumors that some peeps have seen them fleeing either south or west, or maybe even southwest. They wear dusters over their woolen shirts and they have matching black hats to boot. Ask around the town, some folk ought to know them a little more. And riddle them with holes for me, these scums deserve no living!"

That be mighty helpful of ya barkeep. Say, you got one of them bottles spare? I think this trek will need me a drink.

Miguel canonically buys that Liquor I already updated my sheet with.

It be looking like we got a headin', but best talk to a few more of the nice town folk. Maybe we can rustle up some more info.

Miguel heads outside, and starts questioning any convenient passers-by about the Trowels.

"Sounds like they might have headed for the big hills south of here but maybe not. It's hotter than blazes out in the desert. I want a firmer heading. Let's ask around some more."

1st Early Summer 1880 - Early Morning
Agua Fria, cheap saloon "Whiskey Hole"
Miguel Manuello de la Costo (Kashyyk)

"Whiskey Hole" Barkeep: "I ain't selling bottles. I can fetch you some sippin' water. If you need provisions or drinks or alcohol for the road, go visit my cousin's general store down the road."

1st Early Summer 1880 - Early Morning
Agua Fria, cheap saloon "Whiskey Hole"
Pat "the Ghost" Gibbet (notquitethere)

Poker Player of Agua Fria: "The Trowels? I often shot at them bottles with them in me youth. They have quick hands and quick wit, so for them playing fast draw ain't nothing hard!"

Other patrons have nothing important to say, seems there's nothing else to learn about Ian and Michael Trowel in here.

"I'm going to hot foot to the train station, see if anyone saw them leave that way (and learn the schedule for when we all have some more silver to spend). What we got is some good rumours, but I like to play with a full deck... Let's meet back here later when we have something to go on. Maybe one of y'all ask around at the general store or one of the other saloons..."

"I figure they might have left awfully quick. If they didn't take a train, somefolks might have seen them leaving. See if I can rustle up on which way they headed beyond just may south or west. Southwest part of town should have some folks around, and if they didn't see them, that rules out straight south."

"Guess I'll try one of the other saloons then. With any luck, four of us shaking the tree will mean lots of things falling out."

With that, Jackson heads into the second saloon.

1st Early Summer 1880 - Early Morning
Agua Fria, Train Station
Pat "the Ghost" Gibbet (notquitethere)

Pat enters the train station which is deserted at this time of day.

A large blackboard, with words and numbers and little x's and long lines drawn in chalk, hangs on the wall opposite from clerks' desks.

Out of four clerk's desks, only one is occupied by train station lady in black uniform with golden trims. She looks at Pat expectantly.

1st Early Summer 1880 - Early Morning
Agua Fria, City Streets
Guy "The Wild" Gal (TricMagic)

Quote
Heads, Heads

Guy quickly finds some useful information.

Cowboy of Agua Fria: "I heard that Ian has catlike walk to himself. Peeps say he sweeps past by them like a zephyr, quietly and frighteningly so."

1st Early Summer 1880 - Early Morning
Agua Fria, Decent Salloon "Flora's Cantina"
Jackson "The Shootist" Rex (AzyWng)

Jackson enters the decent salloon, "Flora's Cantina".

A large and beautiful barlady stands behind the bar, pouring some drinks for parched patrons.

Some other patrons are busy playing blackjack. The pianist at the large wooden piano is playing a happy tune.

Good to know. Even early in the morning there are some relaxing in the shade.

"Would any of you fine folks happen to have heard anything strange? I'd heard two pals skipped town in a hurry. Anything would be appreciated, even nothing at all."

Guy fails to find anyone with information on Trowel Brothers this time!

1st Early Summer 1880 - Early Morning
Agua Fria, Train Station
Pat "the Ghost" Gibbet (notquitethere)

The blackboard is written like this:

Quote from: Agua Fria Train Schedule
(schedule be written on 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 day cycles)
Northwesternly:
1---------- 2Morning    3---------- 4Afternoon  5---------- 6Morning    7---------- 8Evening    9---------- 10----------
Southeasternly:
1Night      2---------- 3---------- 4Morning    5---------- 6Evening    7---------- 8---------- 9Morning    10----------

It is a train schedule for the only line through the region, in both directions.

Jackson asks the barlady, "So, you wouldn't happen to know where a pair of troublemakers name of 'Trowel' are, would you? I've bullets with their names on them and if you help me find 'em, I'll buy plenty of drinks for everyone here."

Jackson follows up by throwing his best winning smile at the lady.
