i like this idea a lot.. maybe it would be easier to select an already-extant family lineage? otherwise it might be a while before our family is large enough to have interesting characters to choose from, starting from scratch

perhaps a challenge would be a family feud, where we fight, duel, or assassinate a competing family line

Yeah choosing an established lineage might be easier, if i do this i will find a good bloodline.

That could be a fun challenge and offer some fun story potential

I want to create a lineage where at least one progenitor is a legendary gelder

This raises questions of how many creatures I must geld before I am legendary?
How can I make history gelding creatures? Maybe geld every single leader of a goblin civilization?

Either way love the idea and I'm down

This is what i love, i think legendary skill asperations are another great one. Imagine this dwarf talking to a friend. Ah my uncle he is the legendary gelder, best in the land. Some say he can geld a pig blindfolded throwing a spear.

Not sure how much xp you get per a geld but get a good amount of livestock going and im sure its doable.

These are all good ideas

Unless things have changed in the latest versions, having a child as an adventurer without dfHack is impossible as adventurers do not have a sexuality, and even though, your first adventurer has to be a female so she can be made pregnant through hack. Playing with an already existing dwarf may be a lot easier indeed

I'm certainly interested, so you can count me in. (I assume we're going with 0.47.05 since there's going to be adventuring?)

I'd suggest to forcibly marry retired adventurers with DFHack's family-affairs in addition to changing their orientation, if that's the way we'll go in building lineages. After that getting them to have children is quite simple with burrows.

Sounds like it'll be an interesting adventure.

so. the process to actually fullfill this mad quest would involve

1. starting as member of family lineage
2. fight and quest and travel
3. find a companion worthy of the naughty-naughty
4. retire at the appropriate love-making facilities
5. reclaim said love-making facilities and burrow the two
6. ???
7. profit (in dwarven babys)

.. am I missing anything? How exactly / what DFhack commands should be used?

One of us should make a small footprint, easy to reclaim love-pad where we can raise the new members of the legacy in peace and quiet.

Journal of Uzol Wallchanced

Our fortress is florishing but Sheriff Goden has shared with me that the humans are planning a coup. We had first suspected something when within our first year we were greated by a human diplomat/general.

He was mysteriously pushed into the water.

He limped away after that and then like clockwork a human lord. So odd that two high ranking humans visited our small abode and even had known we existed. Very worrying.

Over the years we have had our artifacts, our dwarven treasures stolen. Just this day we had another and we spotted Kivish hidding the object in his pockets. Goden soon got hold of him and after a beating confessed to the act revealing an accomplice. A human by the name of Atir Faintaxes.

So Goden beats and innterogates his Atir fellow and turns out its a fake name. His real name is Ador Gleamclout, seems to be part of a criminal organisation, confessed to embezzling funds from some place called Furlauded. He had also plotted to infiltrate and steal treasures from us. Additionally it appears he was a part of a grander group that is preparing a coop under the influence of some as yet unidentified boss.

Since he didn't confess to the other thefts it can be assumed we have been visited by other agents of this group. Goden is scheduling interviews for everyone, see what he can turn up.

It got worse somehow. Now every visitor we had at the moment was some form of evil criminal making threats and corrupting people. Some part of seperate coups...
Spoiler: More Criminals (click to show/hide)

We just had a "scholar visit" after every other guest was plotting or just plain evil. Goden instantly escorted them to his office and yep another evil fucker. We need to stamp out this vile corruption.

scandalous treachery at the hands of the no-beards. what are we to do?!

I suggest you construct an elaborate pachinko machine that kills every third visitor by flinging them into a sauna (full of magma), thereby reducing the influence of these outside organizations by . . . about %33.
