I am trying to encrust some of my finished goods with gems, but I keep getting this task cancellation message: "Cancels Encrust finished goods with cut gems: Needs improvable finished good item in linked stockpile"

I currently have a stockpile with masterwork finished goods, a stockpile with gems, and a jeweler's workshop that is linked to take materials from these two stockpiles. Both stockpiles have plenty of the proper items inside. I don't see anything wrong with this setup... so why am I getting this message? Have tried removing all links and re-linking, but keep getting this message.

It sounds correct. Have they worked their way through all the encrustable items already? I did the same with furniture and had a "Give To" pile for gemmed stuff so I could see at a glance how much more there was to do and what goodies I had ready for my Dwarfs.

Initially I also had an issue with Encrust Furniture and Encrust Finished Goods as they are different jobs of course.

Do the Dwarfs work as expected on the items if you get rid of the links and only spam when the links are in place?

Can you post a screenshot showing the conditions on the goods stockpile and workshop? Folks may be able to spot something.

Did you try deleting & rebuilding the workshop?  Sometimes this works in similar situations for me.

Ohh I didn't realize that these two were separate! Woops haha. I had mostly only furniture in my linked finished goods stockpile, aside from an artifact which apparently also can't be encrusted. That makes sense now. Much thanks!

Did you try deleting & rebuilding the workshop?  Sometimes this works in similar situations for me.
