Spoiler: Fyla (click to show/hide)

Create the Fading Foryst at H8.

"Fading Foryst":
A verdant paradise overcast by a towering canopy, the Fading Foryst is almost exactly what it appears. However, the fruits there carry an interesting property. Instead of being simply seeds, the fruits store most of the plant's nutrients within them. The foliage found here consists primarily of vines crawling through the treetops, growing wildly until a creature consumes it's fruits.
(Greater than usual forage results, but very low depletion numbers.)

"I should work on some animals, next time."

**Fluff text goes here.**
Also requires a proper explanation of how the "Foraging Improvements" tech works, on account of the fact that the players are the ones who roll it.

Informational: Turn 2

For posterity are the following recorded.

"Fylan Foliage": A woodland teeming with mischievous wildlife. While there are berries and roots aplenty within it's verdant overgrowth, you're likely to leave with less than you came in with unless you keep a careful eye on your belongings. [F6]
Food is 1d4 per worker. 4th worker is 1d3, 5th 1d2, and 6+ 1d1. Depletion Number is 16 Food.
Special Feature - "Knarled Treed": A tree planted in the middle of the world, and center of the burgeoning commonwealth. Nothing practically special about it? (Requires specific knowledge to unlock. Estimation: Lategame)
Warning: Tribes here Roll 1d6 each turn. This will alter stockpiles. *Small amounts of food or basic supplies may be stolen.* This can be rolled before you make your turn, and your plans changed to compensate. Fyla's fickleness godhood. [Note, just post the roll number alongside your actions that turn. It will be process during the turn update.]

"Flower Fylde": A field filled to the brim with flowers, both benign and malicious. The heat is stifling, and the air is choked with pollen from thousands of different plants, and wandering into a cloud could have a variety of different effects. The only creatures that call this place home is a truly staggering variety of insects, primarily various types of bees, who tend to the flowers and the fruits they may produce.
Food is 1d2 per worker. 4th worker onward is 1d1. Depletion Number is not applicable.
Special Feature: None.
Warning: Must roll a 1d2 to act in this tile. On a 1, a random worker is injured, and will not be able to act the next turn. Sending 4 or more workers results in another 1d2 dice roll. (Improving combat ability or researching countermeasures can reduce dangers)

"Fading Foryst": Don't know what this one does. Needs an explanation. No idea why its spelled this way.

"Empty Isle": The result of casualty, this place is not yet free of the void. Always cloudy, the winds foster a healthy amount of underbrush and roots, but not much in the way of life beyond smaller things crawling in the dirt. In the western distance lies a crevice which water flows endlessly down into, splitting the horizon
Food is 1d3 per worker. 4th worker is 1d2, 5+ 1d1. Depletion Number is 12 food.
Special Feature: None.
Warning: Cannot be restored via gods.

Overforaging: Each turn a tile is gathered from, the next turn 1 less will be gathered. If Depletion occurs, this will not trigger that turn. This can be solved by not gathering from that tile for a turn. (Repeated Stacks add up, and take longer to recover. The latest is always the first restored.)

Depletion: This occurs when a tile has too much taken from it. In that case, the -1 modifier for the next turn is applied to all workers. Like normal, this can be solved by not foraging the tile for a turn. Foraging anyway will have another normal -1 stacked on top of that, requiring more turns before it heals. (Reaching 0 will have long-term effects.)
Gods naturally have the ability to restore a tile for 3 DP, fixing any depletion issues. See rules on the specific restrictions.

Fae Trait: Small Minds
Fae have a severe malus to direct combat, and are rather flighty. They technically have bonuses they can make use of, but those have yet to be invented, or are hampered.

Igwam Trait: Introvert
Igwam's have an unfortunate tendency to spend time by themselves. They are however skilled researchers if they are left alone. Can spend 1 food to advance a research project by 1, once per turn. They will often shy away from combat however, which can have consequences. Those consequences haven't been made yet though, so they're fine!

Further Trait effects may make themselves apparent in the future.

Civilization Name: [The Sound of a Great Wind Rushing Through The Void]
Species Name: Wraiths
Species Description: The Wraiths are a race of sapient birds not unlike abnormally large ravens with dexterous claws for grasping and manipulating. Misty gray in color, these creatures drifted out of the void to feed upon the fruits of the Fading Foryst [H8], and chose to make their nests within those trees. The Wraiths are curious creatures by nature, their sharp wit and clever beaks and claws always searching for something new to play with and explore. Being born of the void, they are cold and pragmatic, valuing no life but their own. Survival at any cost.

Turn 3: New Idea

The Igwarm Tribe are quick to split off to examine their old paths. With knowledge aforethought, they complete their Foraging Improvements once they regather and argue the specifics. (See Tribes Spoiler)

The Fae gather their courage in the face of the chitin undergrowth, and carefully work together, avoiding what they can, and occasionally murdering large bugs by pulling their legs off. The pollen is lighter today, and no ambushes occur, allowing them to return unharmed. They surprisingly come across a critter from the foliage trying to break into the hollow where they've gathered their food, and it flees, leaving behind bounty from an earlier raid against another. A small scare that leads to 9 food total from their adventure, and a reminder.

Fyla is still in fickle form, choosing to spend their faith on a strange forest of vines and slender trees, parasitic fruits stealing from others in a strange harmony. To the south lies the foggy ocean. And amidst that strange place shrouded by the canopy come birds forming out of fog. The Wraiths alight upon the earth with a whoosh of wind, drooling at the bounty before them.

Informational: Turn 2

For posterity are the following recorded.

"Fylan Foliage": Recovered. 1d4 food. Depletion Number is 16 Food. [F6]
"Flower Fylde": Foraged 1(-1 food gathered) 1d2 food. No Depletion Number. [F7]

"Empty Isle": Recovered. 1d3 food. Depletion Number is 12 Food. [H9]

"Fading Foryst": A verdant paradise overcast by a towering canopy, the Fading Foryst is almost exactly what it appears. However, the fruits there carry an interesting property. Instead of being simply seeds, the fruits store most of the plant's nutrients within them. The foliage found here consists primarily of vines crawling through the treetops, growing wildly until a creature consumes it's fruits. [H8]
Food is 1d5 per worker. This does not decay past 3 workers. (Hence 4th onward also receive 1d5). Depletion Numbers are 5/10/15. (Multiple Stacks can occur at once). Overforaging is not possible. DN5 is Depletion 1, DN10 Depletion 3, and DN 15 Depletion 5! Max food in one turn capped at 20.
Warning: ?(God option not unlocked yet.), Increased Replenishment Cost. (When a god restores the tile, must also pay the current Depletion Number as cost.)
Warning!: Depletion 5 will result in transformation, becoming a 1d1 area.

Wraith Trait: Hunger for Survival
Capable of Flight, these birds are driven by their need to eat. Increased natural combat ability, but discipline is lessened. Diplomats sound like something they can eat.
Gains a passive The first three researchers a turn add +1 towards food-related research.  Once complete, such research has it's cost reduced for other tribes, or those tribes gain RP.

RP: Research Points can be spent to advance research. In this case, if a tech was completed already, you gain RP to redistribute. Does not expire.

Links to the Turns can be found in the Turn 0 post.

The Igwam Tribe

The Igwam Tribe reconsider their situation with the addition of their new knowledge.

- The expected food yield that would be obtained if every single worker foraged the tile is between 6 and 15.
- Over the course of two turns, the average amount of food that would be collected is 10.5. This means that It would be theoretically possible, albeit not guarunteed that it would be possible to survive indefinitely. The alert level has been dropped from Red to Orange, which is still bad.
- Cautious use of the Introvert ability at this point may be beneficial, especially if it could be used to reveal the cost of the next tech prior to a research turn. Food is still not plentiful enough to use it extensively.

It is suddenly unclear on how their racial trait works. It was once assumed that each civilian could use it on account of it being a trait specific to Igwams, and that they are all Igwams. If it was only once per turn for the whole tribe then it would be tragically underpowered, especially compared to the wraith's trait.

The Igwam decided to put some focus on their off-turns. While foraging is forbidden during any turn when their island has depletion, perhaps something could be done to the food they already have in their posession to increase its efficacy?

Igwam Civilian 1 forages at H9 to collect: 1 food.
- Igwam Civilian 1 uses its Introvert trait to spend 1 food to increase the tech progress of "Food Preparation" by 1.
Igwam Civilian 2 forages at H9 to collect: 2 food.
Igwam Civilian 3 forages at H9 to collect: 3 food.
Igwam Civilian 4 forages at H9 to collect: 2 food.
Igwam Civilian 5 forages at H9 to collect: 1 food.
TECH: "Foraging Improvements" activates once this turn adding: 1 food.

[The Sound of a Great Wind Rushing Through The Void]

The wraiths swoop through the vibrant foryst. A great bounty of fruit lies before them. A land in delicate balance. They shudder, remembering the wasteland that their home became, its shattered pieces sinking into the void behind them as they fled. Three wraiths gather together, sketching ideas and strategies into the bark of the trees near their nest. There must be a way to protect this foryst. We cannot afford to blight another land.

Wary of upsetting this delicate balance, the wraiths eye the fruits of the vines with caution. In their flight through the void, they took with them all they had - though now those stores have dwindled to just enough food to keep them alive for a few days. Initially, the wraiths are patient, the memories of the waste that their former home had become still fresh in their minds. But the forest beneath the pair of scouting wraiths glimmers with a rainbow of color, and they cannot resist. Justifying their actions as "gathering samples for the researchers", two wraiths collect fruits from the trees, carrying them back to their nests for safe-keepingsnacking. They bring enough of the fruits for all but one to eat their fill. Their leader, Wraith 1, consumes a meal from their precious stores, and spares a momentary break from desperate research to worry about their future.

Wraith 1 Researches Careful Foraging, advancing research by 2 points
Wraith 2 Researches Careful Foraging, advancing research by 2 points
Wraith 3 Researches Careful Foraging, advancing research by 2 points
Wraith 4 Forages Fading Foryst [H8] for 1 units of food
Wraith 5 Forages Fading Foryst [H8] for 3 units of food

The Verdant Commonwealth

Back from the Flower Fyldes, the Fae begin discussing among themselves as to the best course of action.  Doing so, they arrive at two answers:  First, they should finish their research on foraging improvements.  Second, they should give thanks and praise to Fyla for their success in foraging the Flower Fyldes without any of them getting injured.  Discussing further, they decide that all but one of them should focus on completing the foraging improvements, while the remaining Fae should sing their thanks and praise to Fyla.

4 Fae research foraging improvements [F6], advancing research by 4 research points, and completing the research.
1 Fae prays to Fyla [F6], providing Fyla with 1 faith point.

Spoiler: Fyla (click to show/hide)

"Allow me to aid you, my children."

Create the "Fragrant Feywyld" at G6, the "Fractured Fernery" at G9, and the Faceted Flatlaynds at G8.

"Fragrant Feywyld":
A vibrant forest whose plants are in every color of the rainbow, the Feywyld is inhabited by what appear to be less civilized versions of the Commonwealth Fae. They constantly pester travelers with questions, and can only be dissuaded by indulging them. However, they may grants gifts to those they call friend.
A low danger tile with average gathering, with potential for interactions, positive or negative, with the native life.

"Fractured Fernery":
A set of crumbling islands in the sea pulled together by colossal fronds. There are offshoots all through the archipelago sprouting ferns large enough to be used as houses. Their leaves are edible, yet are durable enough that they are difficult to consume unless prepared. At the center lies a massive spore pod, occasionally launching a similarly large seed elsewhere?.
A mid-low danger tile with average gathering, it holds very high potential for foraging and exploitation with research.

"Faceted Flatlaynds":
A wide open field dominated by a peculiar sort of highly acidic creeper. It's nodes spread vines out in hexagonal patterns, leaving the field difficult to traverse as corrosive vines cut swathes out of the land. If one can manage to navigate the flatlaynd, the nodes are highly nutritious, as they store all of the creepers sugars within.
A dangerous tile with average gathering and potential for exploitation with research.

(Emphasis added)

The “Commonwealth Fey” (it should be “Fae”, btw) aren’t exactly all that civilized right now…

They constant pester travelers with questions…

Sounds like something the Commonwealth Fae might do (possibly minus the gifts…).

The main thing I need happens to be the terrain/biome type. World isn't the right descriptor unless you're trying a superspecilized tile.(for 10 FP.)

Knightwing, terrain isn't any better here?

Quote from: Discord
@Knightwing , going to need a better description than World, unless you want a 10 FP tile. Is it an ocean, and island, a forest, a mountain? Or a crevice or abyss?

Reason I suggest discord for this game.
