Classic v50.05 small questions

How do I set dump direction of a track stop? WASD, arrow keys, mouse clicking, none of these works.

How do I set number of barrels on a stockpile? It shows max number of barrels, but I can't find where to set the number to be lower than the maximum.

How do I set up coffins? A coffin requires a "tomb" zone. If a tomb zone covers multiple coffins, those coffins are all claimed by one deceased dwarf. Is putting 1x1 tomb zone on every coffin the right way to do it?

(Note that despite there being a paid graphics set, 50.05 is exactly the same game regardless of who distributes it to you.)

Barrels/bins number can be set with one of the icons at the top of the pile details menu (see pic and tooltip below).



Exactly as the tooltip says, make a bunch of 1x1 tomb zones for each spot you want to drop a coffin onto (or seal them all up in individual rooms and use the multi function).

The number of barrels has always been a maximum. Dwarves won't place more than that, and can't place barrels that don't exist.

One note regarding the number of barrels and bins in the stockpile settings - if you set the number to zero, there is a bug that when you change settings or just look through custom settings, the number of bins and/or barrels will be reset to maximum (assuming the stockpile takes items stored in barrels or bins). This is quite annoying.

It can be kind of circumvented by changing the number to any value other than zero, like 1, which will be preserved, though it's still a problem in quantum stockpiles, for as long as you fine-tune them.

Regarding burials, yes, just make 1x1 zones over every coffin, leave it at default settings, or turn on pet burying, and every deceased will be automatically assigned the coffin as necessary.

Thanks. How do I set the direction of track stop and drawbridge? Do people have no problem at all setting the directions?

Drawbridge:

Top right menu not working for you? (Piss poor design. Can only assume it's temporary).

There's a bug in the ascii tileset (and sometimes crops up in the graphical) where you can't see the bridge as you draw it. Bit annoying.

I can see the pop up window like (in the game these are arrows):

Clicking those arrows doesn't do anything. WASD and arrow keys don't work either.

When I try to set the number of barrels at a stockpile, the pop up window shows like:

Max barrels 32
Max bins 0
Max wheelbarrows 0

I can't click anything, other than the [DONE].

it is likely an interface issue with the new versions, due to scaling. same issue is present in the graphical versions for various menus. . . try to adjust your display sizing in the video settings is all I can offer right now. a bit broken and poorly designed in all honesty, i can't even play 'classic mode' because of things like this

I noticed this when trying to play a ASCII font mod too, the button is there, you just have to click to the right hand side of the number-digit, then type in the number of barrels/bins/wheelbarrows (infinite wheelbarrow capacity in 50.05 woo!)

It lights up for you once, revealing very close set grey buttons but usually goes away afterwards in that play session.

I have these missing buttons too but assumed this was because of how I have this machine set up.

For bins/barrels/etc, if you click to the right a bit and the number changes to a blinking underscore, you found the button.

Also for Minecart 'H'auling routes and their stops, the "delete" button is hidden to the right.

For bridges, I click the the >> once when I want the bridge to raise to the east. There is no visual feedback to indicate it was clicked and WASD does nothing. It's been working, but sometimes I mess it up still and it won't accept the build location I clicked.

For screwpumps, the << indicates you want to intake fluid from the west and the tile you click to build will be the "solid tile"of the machine once built. I have missing visual clues and I still need to rebuild pumps a couple times to get them right.

Lol. The hidden buttons and no visual feedback... I like it. Cryptic dwarven device with hidden runes.

All that being said, the new interface still has great potentials. The embark menu, the complete information offered by clicking an object, the stairs designation, the message log notification, ... For the moment some parts are not working as intended, but they're definitely moving to the right direction.
