Yes, I always back up every save.  If your game crashes or if you CTRL+ALT+DEL to avoid saving, you must *always* delete the save file in place and replace it with a backup, or it will corrupt your data.  I learned this the hard way...

Chapter 2!  I had planned on doing a chapter per month, but only ten days into Slate and I've already got several pages.  I'll try to be less wordy in the future!

Well, new harddrive. Redownloaded and make a new world. I have four seas and a nice set of rivers in the center. That's five 'pirate lords', and I've had fun thus far. My current character is on the easternmost sea. Enjoy.
