This is probably a very, very newbish question... but I cannot find the bad-guy i'm supposed to be killing in this cave. I enter the 'cave' via shift+> and it takes me to a forest. I look through every square of the forest, and find nothing but trees and swamps. Anyone care to enlighten me?

There are usually multiple floors and you could have to go down them.  Sometimes they also wander around the upper area as well.  Just keep searching and you should get to it.

By the way, this game rocks. I have never seen a game on this level. I've been playing on fortress mode for hours now. Great job, Toady, on making such a fantastic and deep game.

Yeah, the downward ramp for non-mountainous caves can be a real chore to find.

After the new version, you might consider having those sorts of caves appear as holes in the sides of mesa-like hills that don't have any other ramps.  It would make them stand out a lot more.

They'd stand out more if you were coming from the right side anyway.  Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how things turn out when I get that part.
