I used the head of a child, the effect was all the more once I tried to eat it, as i have a tendency to do with the improvised weapons, and I ended up licking it. Quite the thing to come across in a ruin or really anywhere.

Swords or any bludgeoning weapon. I use all other weapons(anything) as projectiles.
Sneaking within the range of three squares, and then tossing a shield, body part (own chunks reclaimed or borrowed ones from others) or whatnot at any creature (especially crossbow or bow users).
This because I've not had the patience to find any armour for my elves to wear and it tends to raise their life expectancy a bit.

Usually use swords or axes. Occasionally bludgeon things to death with a rock I picked up.

But the real fun? The real fun comes from ripping faces off with a quick lash of the whip.

Swords and spears.  And Wrestling.

Elves don't need armor, just a nice shield and some wooden gauntlets.  Wooden weapons are great fun for training weapon skills on a ruin's undead horde, even though some shots will still take their leg out first swing.

I started off with spears but found them lacking in multiple enemy combat. I then moved to maces... But I was having some real trouble with bigger monsters. Now I'm using axes (and certainly take an axeman to my team)

i found out that iron twohanders makes good throwing weapons, provided you can pick them up again after it

the best one is when you manage to disarm an enemy and then kill him with his own weapon...

I like doing that, but what I particularly enjoy is stealing an enemy's weapon and throwing it at one of his friends, then proceeding to beat both.

What I'm eagerly looking forward to is the day that Toady adds in kicks and trips and possibly multiple-tile-arc swings.

got the best one today, chopped an iron mans arm off then beat him to death with it (by repeatedly throwing and picking it up)
