Just throwing it out here that the game is very big, so it's possible this has always been in the game for x number of versions without anybody adding it to the wiki.

Would have been found via DFHack and mentioned somewhere on the forums.

Only if somebody looked especially for it.

I didn't see any trace over the internet of experiments not being able to become vampires and necromancers. Itīs not so strange to me that of the very small pool of people bothering to go looking for such a specific thing nobody wrote about it. Like how many people want to know that?

Off course it can be a new feature. I'm just saying the game is so big that it has features that aren't written about anywhere. Sure, we have tools to find out everything, but if nobody goes looking for a specific thing AND writes about it, then nothing will be written about it.

That's a bit different from something like not knowing experiments exist, even if Toady didn't specifically mention them.

Having an in-game announcement makes something really easy to find. Even without that, it would have been found by DFHack maintainers via the new feature ID it adds, given 47.05 was released nearly two years ago.
