I started an elven spearwoman for kicks. The first thing I see when I get into the elven town is combat spam of a hippo fighting a spearman. The spearman dies. It turns out there are about fifty hippos on the map. They systematicly kill every single elf peasent, child and fighter in the town. I try valiantly to fight them off and end up dead in half a second. Hippo, the new giant cave spider?

I just got headmangled by a hydra in and old fort. What's worse, he knocked me off the 5 story waterfall. Because there was still water in the pool i didn't die from the fall. I tried to make my way to the many ramps leading out of the pool when i passed out and drowned.

My newest adventurer just went on an ettin hunting mission in a seemingly endless cave. I wandered around for hours searching for the ettin with no luck. I came upon a giant cave spider, fortunately one of my spearcatchers jumped in and ate the first bite, after which point I and my bowman comrade managed to down the beast with no further incident. He was truly no match for a steel warhammer. I kept wandering around the cave one shotting the weak trash feeling invincible. After another hour or so of this I was pretty powerful, however I was about to call it quits. The cave was literally endless. I walked up a staircase I previously believed to be safe ( I had wandered through the hallway many times ) and before I could even see what hit me I had the " You are dead, Press escape to finish game " Turns out the cave spider had a friend, and I was without any spearcatchers. Ugh. I hate cave spiders.

My fire spirit was marked 'Extremely Strong' and 'Tough', so I thought he could take out a giant. He might of been able to.

I play on a different compy so I can't copy out of the gamelog, but here's a recap. I charged spider, and was caught in web, then the spider bites my leg twice, while giant cave swallow and giant rat keep me knocked out with their wimpy nibbles. A while later, spider rips my skull off. Yay!

P.S. All I did was give the spider a nice tan and a burned foot.

Lol, Just started a new game as an Elf Swordsman. I put some points into swimming and decided to put some experience by sleeping in the water...

quote:
 *** STARTING NEW GAME ***
** Starting Adventurer **
You sleep.
It is noon.
You awaken from your slumber.
You stand up.
You have nothing left to throw.
You drink the water.
You sleep.
Night is falling.
You awaken from your slumber.
You stand up.
You drink the water.
You sleep.
Night is falling.
You have been encased in ice.

I'd be tempted to make a fort there if it were me. Wall off the flash-frozen elf in glass (since he'd thaw every summer) and make a temple around him.

I may be nuts, tough.

It is badly pierced!
The Guard's right lung has been pierced!
The Guard's left lung has been pierced!
The Guard's heart has been pierced!
The Guard's liver has been badly pierced!
The Guard's upper spine has been badly pierced!

Holy Cow!

Not as good as some things in this thread, but anyways;
From my hornet mod playtesting:

code:

** Starting Adventurer **

-travels from my forest retreat to a nearby dwarven fortress,
nothing noteworthy happens, it is easy to find
the entrance when you can fly and after
a while I find a sleeping guard in one of the rooms-

You strike at The Guard but the shot is blocked!
The Guard counterstrikes!
The Guard misses You!
You strike at The Guard but the shot is blocked!
You strike at The Guard but the shot is blocked!
The Guard counterstrikes!
The Guard hacks at You in the right foreleg tibia with her Steel battle axe!
The shot glances away.
You strike at The Guard but the shot is blocked!
The Guard counterstrikes!
The Guard hacks at You in the abdomen with her Steel battle axe!
It is badly gashed!
Your spleen has been badly cut!
Your right kidney has been badly cut!
Your lower spine has been badly cut!
The Steel battle axe has lodged firmly in the wound!
The Steel battle axe remains stuck in your abdomen.
You strike at The Guard but the shot is blocked!
The Guard counterstrikes!
The Guard misses You!
You strike at The Guard but the shot is blocked!
-lots of evading and away glancing-
The Guard counterstrikes!
The Guard misses You!
You bite The Guard in the right upper arm!
It is broken!
You latch on firmly!
The Guard stands up.
You shake The Guard around by the right upper arm!
It is mangled!
You shake The Guard around by the right upper arm!
The Guard loses hold of the small Steel right gauntlet.
The right upper arm is ripped away and remains in Your grip!
You bite The Guard in the right upper leg!
The shot glances away.
You strike at The Guard but the shot is blocked!
You charge at The Guard!
You bite The Guard in the right upper leg!
It is broken!
You collide with The Guard!
The Guard is knocked over and tumbles backward!
The Guard gives in to pain.
You sting The Guard in the upper body with your sting!!!!!
It is pierced through completely!   :D
AND balanced as five dwarves whereof 2 non-combatants could defeat me.

(Edit: messed up window width)

Heh, not nearly as epic, but just a showoff of a little bug (and maybe the awesomeness of the RNG). Was travelling in some cave, got jumped by a troglodyte. What happened next is a warning to all future troglodytes.
code:
The troglodyte attacks You but You jump away!
You hack at The troglodyte in the upper body with your Iron battle axe!
It is mangled!
The troglodyte is propelled away by the force of the blow!
You hack at The troglodyte in the right upper leg with your Iron battle axe!
The right upper leg flies off in a bloody arc!
The troglodyte gives in to pain.
You hack at The troglodyte in the left upper leg with your Iron battle axe!
It is badly gashed!
You hack at The troglodyte in the left upper arm with your Iron battle axe!
The left upper arm flies off in a bloody arc!
You hack at The troglodyte in the right upper arm with your Iron battle axe!
The right upper arm flies off in a bloody arc!
You hack at The troglodyte in the left upper leg with your Iron battle axe!
The left upper leg flies off in a bloody arc!
You hack at The troglodyte in the upper body with your Iron battle axe!
It is cloven asunder!
The troglodyte is propelled away by the force of the blow!
The troglodyte slams into an obstacle!
The head is broken!
The lower body is broken!
The head is smashed into the body, an unrecognizable mass!
The upper body collapses into a lump of gore!
The upper body collapses into a lump of gore!
The lower body explodes in gore!
The lower body explodes in gore!
The lower body explodes in gore!
The lower body explodes in gore!
The upper body collapses into a lump of gore!
The troglodyte has been struck down.

I kinda eviscerated the "poor gentle creature".  :)
No, he didn't go through several walls, he just kinda smashed into one and kept exploding all over. That's what I call EXCESSIVE OVERKILL.

Also, in that same adventure, a giant cave swallow was consequtively hit by a batman, a ratman, an iron low boot, and my battle axe.  :)

You hack at The Skeleton in the upper body with your Iron great axe!
It is shattered!
The Skeleton is propelled away by the force of the blow!
The Skeleton slams into an obstacle!
The Skeleton loses hold of the fox leather shoe.
The Skeleton loses hold of the wolf leather cloak.
The Skeleton loses hold of the Rope reed robe.
The Skeleton loses hold of the Rope reed dress.
The Skeleton loses hold of the mule leather trousers.
The Skeleton loses hold of the Rope reed loincloth.
The lower body flies off in an arc!
The Skeleton loses hold of the Rope reed sock.
The Skeleton loses hold of the cow leather right glove.
The right hand flies off in an arc!
The Skeleton loses hold of the Rope reed right mitten.
The right lower arm flies off in an arc!
The right upper arm flies off in an arc!
The Skeleton loses hold of the grizzly bear leather hood.
The head flies off in an arc!
The upper body is shattered!
The upper body is shattered!
The upper body is shattered!
Atthem Lakamilo, Skeleton has been struck down.

That's quite a hit.
