Well I had my first legendary swordsman and I had pretty much cleaned everything around out so I went off to see the world. One night I was attacked by a lion that I dispatched easily but I was for some reason tired (perhaps it was all that rock throwing) but anyway it was deathly cold out so I lit a tree on fire and waited for it to warm up. I went to sleep and woke up halfway though the cycle apparently blistering. I tried to get out but the fire had spread pretty far and I apparently bled to death.

Giants are dangerous but stupid, unless they have a weapon. When they have a weapon, they are deadly, but probably still stupid.

Deciding that my first adventurer (a wrestler) is going to die anyhow, I take on the Mayor's challenge to go kill a giant. I recruit a party of a few drunks and a Lasher (first weapon user around) and headed off.

We milled around a bit, found the cave, and beat up a few stray antmen and a troll along the way. I held the troll down with my fearsome strangleholds while the Drunks punched it. Eventually it bled to death.

That's about when the giant showed up. One drunk bravely took a swing at it, but missed. The giant took advantage of her mistake: she grabbed the drunk by her shoe and smahed her head in with the other hand. The corpse collided with the giant and went spinning off into the distance.

Next came the Lasher. The giant charges the Lasher and knocks her down and out in two blows. The shiny copper shield in the Lasher's hands, however, apparently fascinates her. She grabs hold of it and spends some time groping around trying to figure out how to get her opponent to drop it. The giant(ess, I guess) grabs at her legs and toes, and eventually breaks one of her ankles. Frustrated, she smashes the Lasher's hand--that does it! The shield is hers. Shiny, shiny shield.

Then the following happens:

To recap: the giantess smashed, mangled, and broke pretty much every limb the Lasher had using her own shield. She sends the Lasher flying into a wall--which she SURVIVED--and continues mangling her until she bleeds to death.

(What did I do after this? Why, I tossed a rock at the giantess (no damage), dodged one blow, got knocked down and had my body turned into a pink mist.)

Isn't it anoying how you know precicely which limbs your underlings are getting broken (I'd say "getting torn of" but that's not in yet), and yet you never know where the heck they have run of to.

I was messing around in a mod I made and actually had a rather morbid death come of the pillaging. Here are the relevant parts of the gamelog:

Interesting but short-lived fight.

A bunch of my swordsman comrades and I charged down a hallway at a kobold elite bowman...So, they all get shot to hell.

Then, I get it; straight through the neck, into the brain...

And I keep right on going and slash that bastard in half in one turn, and then bleed to death.

Just recently I made an adventurer with only some really good spear skills so I head on out to find some cave somewhere with two buddies. So a little while later my buddies both end up bleeding to death on the floor so I decide since I'm not really attached to my adventurer to finish the job on the spearman to get his iron spear. I run into a surprise as I liberate the spear from his cold and newly perforated hands... I find myself face to face with a dragon and this is what happened.

The dragon misses You!
You stab The dragon in the upper body with your iron spear
The dragon's heart has been badly pierced!
The iron spear has lodged firmly in the wound!

This was the first attack from both of us and I had already killed it... Or so I thought, unfortunately the dragon disagreed so we kept fighting... For another round untill the second fluke of the day occurs.

Just as I've obtained my spear from the dragon's heart the maceman who had a broken arm and some other nasty wounds suprises me.

The Maceman stands up.
The dragon misses You!
The Maceman charges at You!
You are surprised by the ferocity of The Maceman's onslaught!
The Maceman bashes You in the lower body with his bronze mace!

That’s the only dragon I have ever managed to kill. I guess the moral of the story is that you should never betray your teammates. Or maybe it's just to wear more armour.
