Well I'll be darned.

How the hell do the new guys manage to dig up old threads like this?  Are they naturally drawn towards the topics that are far back in the archives?

Hang on...

Now it's telling me that this topic was started today! What gives?

The AI emerging in the forums is playing mind games with us...

Forums are a funny place. A member will make a new topic and he'll get told to use the search feature, the topic has already been discussed. A member will use the search function and post and he'll be told that he shouldn't be posting in old posts.    :p

Yeah, no kidding...  But you see, we have seniority, which means we get to do whatever we damn well want and then blame it on the new guys.

But there really is an art to finding out whether or not to post a reply or a new thread...  You have to strike the balance juuust right, in order to cover all your bases.

It's hard to tell jokes over the internet...

I don't honestly think that any sort of seniority should/would affect how we are allowed to behave.  I was just making a comment on how after a while, forumgoers become an integrated group who tells off new folks when they make a slip-up.

Hi!

Talking about favorite weapons, I am happy that I finally found a store that sold interesting swords - thus far, I either saw two-handed swords or short swords and I really wanted a replacement for my scimitar. Now, I have a nice long sword.

And it is really nice to see cougars cloven asunder and propelled about one screen away by the blow :) :)

(Even with the scimitar, I recently had a tigerman who nearly did the black knight number for me. I think he still had one leg, but the other arms and legs ...)

I like to use axes, mostly for the bits and pieces flying around. If I need to kill something dangerous though, I'll stick to a pike/spear or bow/crossbow.

I'm getting the impression that I perhaps should feel some guilt for going after the easily acheived masterwork obsidian rock swords.

and carrying seven of them.

and throwing six of them.

Tis a fact that my favorite weapon is an exceptional bronze morning star. Nothing like bashing goblin swordmasters with spikey balls-on-sticks.

Using arrows makes a nice melee weapon. It's like a light mini spear. It's fun to do this:
1. Stab enemy with arrow. Arrow gets lodged.
2. Release arrow and take new one out.
3. Stab enemy with arrow. Arrow gets lodged.
4. Release arrow and take out a stack of iron bolt(28).
5. Stab enemy with stack of iron bolt(28). Enemy explodes.
6. Pick up arrows.

Or if you're particularly cruel:
1. Grab right upper arm with left lower arm.
2. Take-down via right upper arm with left lower arm.
3. Lock right upper arm with left lower arm.
4. Grab left lower arm with iron shield.
5. Grab right upper leg with left lower leg.
6. Lock right upper leg with left lower leg.
7. Grab left upper leg with right lower leg.
8. Lock left upper leg with right lower leg.
9. Grab head with right hand.
10. Pinch nose with right hand.
11. Gouge left eye with right hand.
12. Gouge right eye with right hand.
13. Attack enemy with stack of steel iron arrow(11).
14. Stabbity stab stab stab.

^ And the above is why I become a legendary wrestler in adventurer mode in minutes.

edit: I'm not particularly sure if arrows get lodged since whenever I attack with arrows, it skips to step 5.
