What did you tell it to create that weird green deformed bird thing in the third picture?

The prompt was "A photograph of a kea and a dwarf standing in front of a fortress"; DALL-E sadly didn't fulfill its brief, but I liked the result nonetheless

The first and second attempts look better, in my opinion, to the third and fourth.
Also, the turkey looks like a cassowary to me.

I still think real artists will be able to hold out against the AI generated art.

How about using them for wiki articles that have no art or rl pictures?

Would that be useful at all? Can't really illustrate an article on a beak dog (for example) with an AI interpretation. Everything is described in the game in extensive detail, including colours. Seems an AI wouldn't come up with anything accurate unless it was specifically trained on the raws somehow.

Well, you could give it the description of a beak dog (as so kindly provided by the game) and see what it spits out. Rather than plug in "beak dog", plug in "A creature from the evil swamp. It resembles a squat, wingless bird with powerful beak and legs. Its blotchy skin is brightly colored."

Well, the last image of a “fluffy wambler” in my most recent post was made using that method, using the description from the wiki/raws (with a bit ton of rewording because, apparently, Wambo has a complete inability to understand normal English).  The other two “fluffy wamblers” were generated just by using the phrase “fluffy wambler”.

I have heard that these AI programs do a lot better if you feed them a premade image to use as a basis and Wambo does have this option but, alas, I have absolutely zero artistic skill.

Also, I have no idea how to edit a wiki…

It doesn't seem like the AI for the art AI things aren't at a level that they can make the things needed for the DF wiki yet.
