Protection Inc accepts both Opportunities. Baron Von Woof is just a troubled man who we can fix. The Apartment needs embiggening.

Then we celebrate our new found space by filling it up! Time to do a Cohesion Try-Out.

Lexicon takes Opportunity 1. We all have to pick a side eventually.
No, I misunderstood. This actually seems pointless and I don't think we would bother.
The Advisor reluctantly turns down Opportunity 3. He's comfortable with his friends again and doesn't want to get involved in something shady, and besides, he's not a big truster of governments.
Which means there is regrettably not enough money for Opportunity 2, but we'd like to pocket the idea for later if possible.

Lexicon keeps the content of the emails to himself for now. He's deeply considering whether he should try to get in contact and share it with Joshua Tree, though.

RECRUITMENT REPORTS 13

PUNCH! host a tryout. (1+2) Three heroes attend:

Spoiler: PUNCH! tryout (click to show/hide)

The heroes with the highest renown were Chiffon and Lynxxx who were both hired:

Name |   Known Powers | Traits | Fame/Infamy
Chiffon (Mari Chang) | Bakes pastries which grant powers | Introverted, Kind, Neurotic, Bullet Proof Armor, Wealthy  | 1
Lynxxx | Enhanced climbing and acrobatics | Hates Dogs, Vivacious, Brash, Risk-tolerant, Respects Ectoboy, Connected, Bullet Proof Armor| 4/2

"It feels good to be back in the game," Chiffon says. With her bakery fortune, she's bought herself a new supersuit. "I'm a little bit nervous but I think I can really do some good this time."

Lynxxx, dressed vivaciously as ever, also comes with her own history. "Being a leader is hard," she says to Mistress Extra. "It just feels good for it to be someone else's problem."

They also take Brick on Clemency:

Name | Known Powers | Traits | Infamy | Motivation
Brick | Enhanced strength and toughness | Risk-Taking, Muscular, Greedy | 2 | Fulfilling mercenary contracts

"Fair cop, if I were you I'd hand me in too," Brick says, no hard feelings. He's happy to join a big established merc outfit.

The Gray Company recruit Mortar:

Name | Known Powers | Traits | Infamy | Motivation
Mortar | Scrap gun creation, Immune to Explosions | Sharpshooter, Careful, Ungainly | 2 | Fulfilling mercenary contracts

Mortar comes in lugging a newly assembled scrap rocket launcher. "Point me at a problem and I'll shoot it," she says. "At a safe distance."

The Watch attempt to merge with Rust Riot. [3+2+[+1 crossover]+[4+ traits]=10+] They agree readily:

Name |   Known Powers | Traits | Fame/Infamy
Verdigris (Doctor Hijank) | Junksuit, Devices that control and transform | Old, Clever, Kind, Enemy of the E Corp, Resourceful, Paraplegic, Robotic Legs, Over-Protective, Creaky | 2/8
Slinger (Slugnut) | Slingshots Pistol-shooting/loading | Quick, Ugly, Indefatigable, Mean | 2/7
Neat Spirit (Cephala) | Invisibility Regenerating Tentacle Arms | Known Killer, Broken Probation, Ruthless, Ingenious, Terrifying, One-Eyed, Stealth-Tech, Selfish | 0/8

"I want to stay and fight those bastards," says Doctor Hijank (or Verdigris as she is now known). "We won't be satisfied while these people are still running around. We clear?"

"Only a matter of time before someone learns we never died, let's squeeze some necks while we're still free," Neat Spirit (AKA Cephala) says, squeezing a grapefruit with one of her many tentacles.

Slinger (AKA Slugnut) twirls his slingshot. "About time we did some real hero work now we're on the 'good' side."

Protection Inc. hold a tryout. [3+1] Four heroes attend:

Spoiler: Protection Inc. Tryout (click to show/hide)

Chap Stick and The Woman Lamp were considered most cohesive and join the team:

Name |   Known Powers | Traits | Fame/Infamy
Chap Stick | Glue Generation | Polite, Carefree, Ostentatious | 1
The Woman Lamp | Flaming Hair, Fire Bolts, Jet-Fire Propulsion | Hates Mimesis, Tempestuous, Trigger-Fuse, Forgotten, Overwhelmed | 4

"Pleased to meet you all!" Chap Stick says. She's dressed in close-fitting action-wear, he disguise beign bright green lipstick and a green wig. She looks about the apartment and stops to pet the cat. "I think this will work out quite well!

The Woman Lamp is a pacer. She paces. Her hair smoulders constantly, the team have to turn off the smoke alarm. "The year is all wrong, or I've lost some years of my life, but this time I'm going to really set the world on fire!"

Everyone else looks uncomfortable for a moment. And she laughs. "Oh in a good way!"

Cursed Legacy hire Lost Tide.

Lexicon tells Sol Heart about the contents of the emails, and they encourage Lexicon to send over the whole text. It's hard to say no to Sol, and soon the emails are shared with the rest of Constellation Aurora. Iron Gavel talks about the contents of the email at a poker night with Lynxxx and some of their other connections, and Lynxxx talks about it at the next tryout... along with the intel from Jennifer that also spreads, soon the whole superhero community in Zircon City know what E-Corp have been up to.

MISSION PHASE 13

The city is awash with possibilities. Some might be able to wait or be ignored, while others are very pressing for the heroes. The police have been informed of E-Corp but investigation is being stymied by the corporation's very deep pockets. It'll be up to the heroes to thwart them!

Spoiler: Tags (click to show/hide)

#-1 Villain Missions
If you are a villain team, you may undertake personal missions, or any of the following. Villains may private-message their actions.

Spoiler: Villain Missions (click to show/hide)

#0 Personal Mission
You may assign a person for a personal mission. Name one of the following goals, assign someone to it, and you will either gain a related opportunity in the opportunity phase, or some immediate increase of intelligence.

Spoiler: Personal Missions (click to show/hide)

#1 Kaiju-Pup
[Size Tiny OR Size Huge OR Deadly][Time Sensitive][Recurring]
The Legion of Wickedness are riding a gigantic Harpoodle around Silver Row, robbing stores, crushing buildings, causing mayhem. Harpoodle's projectile claws seem to cut through anything. He's constantly on the move, but is currently in a small park with limited collateral damage.

#2 Sandstorm
[Recurring][Deadly:Environment]
The sandstorm in the Mire has spread to Warren but has its core in Mireton. It is still growing, but the intensity of the storm in its center means no one has been able to get close to Gaffer within.

#3 A Rose By Any Other Name
[Recurring][Deadly:Bullets]
Thornrose is being held captive by E Corp in a secret lab in Montgomery. After the recent incursions, they'll expect an attack, but it should just be conventional security guards.

#4 New Life
[Deadly: Gas][Recurring]
Sensitive genetic testing is happening in one of E Corp's secret labs in Sandup. Apparently Muskrat is working security.

#5 E-Corp HQ
[Deadly: Lasers][Punishing][Recurring]
The secret headquarters of the E-Corporation is in an office block Downtown. Jennifer says they do powerful laser research there.

#6 Et tu?
[Time Sensitive][First Come][Punishing]
Brutus has been seen at the Watch's old base in Old Town, clearly disappointed to have missed them. He's incredibly dangerous, but someone could get the drop on him if they wanted... or even try and pursuade him to give back the stolen powers?

#7 Cleansing
[Time Sensitive]
The Cleansing is seeking to wipe out a Satanists meeting house in Greenbelt, and Cursed Legacy are trying to stop them. To confuse matters further, Auntie Anti has been seen in the area, and Animalia are on their way.

#8 Base Invasion
[Time Sensitive]
The Red Hand have learned of the location of PUNCH!'s base in Dusk Beach (selling such information clearly being a side hustle for Escher) and they are hoping someone is home... SPECIAL: PUNCH! can attend other missions and not be home, but they cannot perform Personal Missions while being invaded.

#9 Healing Science
[Limit: Healed within previous two mission phases][Heroes: 5][Recurring]
Marigold at AWE in Atomic Heights is interested in how SHE people heal much quicker than normal humans and is looking for volunteers who have recently healed naturally. It pays very well per person, but she only has budget for five participants.

#10 Golemtown
[Time Sensitive][First Come]
The Stoneface Gang are trying to set up turf in the Docks, with a new protection racket. The gangsters are reinforced by inhuman stone automatons. They don't talk much but they don't take no for an answer. Their boss is visiting by boat from Stoney Island today. Could be a perfect time to strike before the gang gets settled...

Spoiler: Route Horizon (click to show/hide)

Purchase a Stealth Suit. Reverso is a bro, don't talk bad about him, we can't even use the fame for anything. The Watch seems like they need some help, ask for a favor later in exchange for 2 funds.

"Farewell, money. You will be missed dearly.

But it's time... to right a wrong."

Head to 8. Those bastards got Highway and Ponche killed, and it's time to take my pound of flesh.

Jack Dandy, The Man In Grey, Lotus Petal, and Haste will all go confront Brutus. Persuade him it's beneath the dignity of one as glorious as he to stoop to stealing other people's greatness.

The Man In Grey will take the Electrogirdle just to be safe.

Sure is a lot of stuff happening. I'm guessing I can't use the range of the Railscopipe to set up The Spork and just have him shoot every bad guy in half the city?

It takes time to setup (so difficult for simultaneous missions), and you need a local spotter, so probably not.

PB can patrol 3 areas and I can always take -1 fame to crowd source spotters. Of course any excuse works :V

We want to hit E-Corp HQ full force, but will prioritize saving Thornrose if nobody else does. Part of the Railscopipe plan was that I could probably snipe the guy in the center of the sandstorm if someone spots for us, but that will probably have to wait for another turn.

We are willing to send Jennifer and the bola launcher to easy mode #6 if the Dandy Lads want to help us hit an E-corp location instead of giving the guy all your powers.

A quick note, since I won’t be able to make my full post until this evening: my plan is to deal with the sandstorm, Thornrose, and the HQ, but the sandstorm plan has Jennifer as an integral part of it. Please don’t send her somewhere else.

For clarity’s sake, the intention is to send her and Void - Void to clear a path through the sand, Jennifer to shut down Gaffer once they reach the center. Because frankly, we need some way to shut down the guy’s power, and it’d be better for it not to be killing him.
Potentially, the bola launcher could substitute, though I’m not sure if Void can safely handle the thing.

Brutus running loose is your fault, so nobody should feel bad about using her to stop the guy who could become the strongest threat to the city. You just have to get back to me before Glass posts ~

Dandy Lads are contractually unable to hit a [Deadly] mission without the appropriate protection, so it's possible but expensive for us to get in on that.

I'm also concerned about ezmoding Brutus because that doesn't actually get anyone's powers back and our odds of containing him are... nebulous. Negotiation is waaaaaaaay riskier but likewise has a bigger payoff if it works.

Lynxxx, dressed vivaciously as ever, also comes with her own history. "Being a leader is hard," she says to Mistress Extra. "It just feels good for it to be someone else's problem."
"I can relate. It's gotten easier though. I have help~"

Send Atla and Pockette to the Docks again. This time accompanied by... Mari? I don't think anyone has told me their real name before, huh.
More to keep her out of trouble than to help, though she is very helpful.

Buy stealth armor for Extra, Princess, Chorist, and Lynxxx. Brick draws the short straw and gets to be bait, since he's durable.
Princess and Chorist on command and control. Lure them in, trap them, and then annihilate the Red Hand.
Their remains will never leave this place.
Dusk beach local assistance, of course.
