Meanwhile...
"Sir, the Soldier squad 34-67-37 has returned back to the base with a peculiar report at the fissure site."
In the domain of the Kō-Äh, in a dense, ancient, well-engineered growth of Orchards, two Kings convened. Powerful creatures these Kings were, possesing remarkable intellect, and great quasi-psionic abilities. Their bulbous, spherical bodies propelled themselves with a series of flippers and water jets. The larger and the elder of the two used these to manuever around, to face the smaller and younger King.
"You may tell me what this report entails."
"Sir, the Soldier squad have detected an incredibly strange creature while on patrol. It is an extraordinarily hot being, as hot as mountain blood, and is seemingly made of that substance, as its visage is akin to it. It is also perfectly cubical, and makes strange sounds like the Ravagers everywhere it goes."
"Interesting. Are we sure this is not a mirage of sorts? Or some Ravager sorcery previously unknown to us?"
"I can't answer that sir. But the soldiers in question had no flaws."
"Then we will simply assume that something truely anomalous lurks in our water. Whatever the case, we need more information. We must contact this being to determine if it is a threat to our collective. And we shall do this in stealth. If it involves mountain blood, then it is inherently dangerous. In this case, it is downright unacceptable since is alive and autonomous."
"What is your plan sir?"
"Pick your most trusted subordinates and have them commandeer Scouts to continue observation. Secure a perimeter and disseminate a cover up story as freak volcanic activity happening in the area. Contain the anomaly in that zone. Protect the collective."
Unbenownst to them, however, there was a third listener to their little conversation.
The mountain heard.
